Dunno if anyone cares, but since the PS3 V3-SA was out of stock I decided to buy a VX-SA (360 version) and ordered a Paewang PCB, since I was gonna do this at a later date anyway.
The VX-SA was like £30 less, so it's not a big price difference.

Plus, I like the color more, too. :>

I adore my VX-SA. Though I now feel like I have too many sticks.

The Chun-Li TE is gorgeous and I wish I had a 360 one, but having both a Round 1 & Round 2 TE, the VX-SA, and an Anniversary Stick with a PS360 PCB I really, really can't justify it.

Got my V3-SA today. Really like it. Gonna have to get adjusted to the buttons being closer together after playing on a TE for so long. The weight does not bother me, I like the lightness especially since I play with the stick on my lap.

I did not know the Chun TE sticks have better compatibility with pc chipsets, probably would've stuck with a madcatz had I known since did want one that would also work on pc. Make sure those ps3 SFxT sticks have even better compatibility, MarkMan. =)

Hey everybody.

Do you guys know if there were any problems with the Tatsunoko vs. Capcom stick? I just bought one on Friday and for the most part it works good but every once in a while It won't connect to the Wii and I'll have to try a few times or restart the system to get it to work.

I was thinking it might be the connector piece but wouldn't it just not work at all if that were the case? So maybe it's my Wii or wiimote?

Should I take it back?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

How are liking the stick? I'm really interested in getting one, but to drop that much cash on an unknown kinda makes me hesitant.

I am really liking the Qanba stick thus far. It feels really sturdy and is quite comfortable since the base is just wide and long enough. I found my VSHG to be uncomfortable after long use since the bottom is a bit too short and the edge is too sharp so my wrist hurts after resting it on the top of the stick for too long. The Qanba Q4 is responsive, has everything today's modern sticks offer (wire compartment, full Sanwa parts... besides the start button), is dual system (PS3 / PC + 360), and is easy to mod (wires are all labelled for you once you open the bottom). I just had a long play session yesterday with the stick and I found nothing to complain about, everything is topnotch.

I've been playing with the V3 SA a lot, and I absolutely love it. I thought the little ledges would annoy me, but I actually like having them.

Well, found a MvC3 TE on eBay for 115 and sprung on it last minute, thinking someone else would probably bid! Got it! Can't wait for it to come in. I liked that design the most out of the TE's.

Just... have to limit spending now. Might have to get it dual modded eventually as it seems my scene (CT) seems to use 360's more than anything.

I knew this story would have a happy ending!

Now get ready to be addicted. Eight months ago I got my first stick and I'm already working on getting a third made today. :P

Found a cheap TvC stick. I'm planning to remove the pcb and replace it with an MC Cthulhu. Would it be possible to use a PS2 cord with an xtokki 360 converter to make it compatible with the 360 too? Would it be lag free?

http://www.etokki.com/Xtokki 360
As far as I can tell, yes, that would work. No converter is completely lag-free, but the good ones' lag is so minimal that it doesn't make a difference. The one tricky part is the home button on the TvC stick, which you will need to wire up by finding its leads on the home/turbo PCB. If you ask around on Shoryuken, I'm sure someone will be able to tell you how that's done.

I'm pretty sure when using mccthulu that Start+Select = Home.

Really? That plan sounds perfect, then. Probably one of the cheapest ways to get a tri-modded arcade stick, period.

Well here's what Toodles had to say over at SRK about this:

Toodles said:
If you're wanting to do it as solderless as possible, it certainly can be done, but you'll lose all functionality of the LED daughterboard; so no Home button. But, the Cthulhu will activate the Home button for you when you press both Start and Select, so no loss there. Cut the ribbons going to the LED board, and shove each of the wires onto the matching screw terminal on the Cthulhu. . The big question is the outgoing USB cable; you can either use the existing cable by cutting it close to the original board and then soldering the four wires to the Cthulhu, or you can cut and remove it entirely, use a new USB A-to-B cable, plug it into the Cthulhu jack and then run it out the case. But going with the new cord means no soldering, but likely having to drill the case for the cord to escape.

So you lose turbo, and led's, but start+select=home.

I'm kind of itching for a new stick... A friend brought over his V3 and I like it.

But I want to wait and see if we'll ever get an "SE" (full seimitsu) version of the V series. I really prefer the shorter throw and smaller deadzone of the Seimitsu sticks.

What do you mean wait and see?

My TE's roundhouse and KKK button has stopped working until i unplug and replug a couple times in the past month, also yesterday i was crouching and everything went out and my character was stuck in crouch until i replugged it in.

Impending doom or loose connections?

Possibly loose ground wiring

Ahh! I'm only planning on getting it dual modded if I really get into games and start branching out to find a local community (everything seems to be over an hour away from me). That'll almost be the cost of another stick right there with shipping it to someone and paying for it.

Maybe if I feel like it I'll customize the colors. I do like those black rimmed Sanwa buttons. Maybe I'd get 6 and do the whole blue/yellow/red thing. I'm happy with the TE I got though, I really like the look of the MvC3 stick.

If you hook up a Tatsunoko vs Capcom Wii stick to a PS3 using the Mayflash Wii classic controller to usb adapter, how are the buttons mapped? Also, does the home button work to bring up the XMB?

I'm thinking about going this route to get a relatively cheap PS3 joystick. I have tried a HRAP3 stick but don't like the large size, I like the size of the Hori Fighting Stick 3 but the button layout is not the best.

Well if you're lucky there will be someone in your local scene that can help you out with it. I'm on my way to get a custom stick made by a local dude at a huuuuge discount.

Perhaps. Most people online seem to charge 80+shipping for a dual mod which doesn't seem so bad. Though if it was someone local I could obviously save big on shipping costs.

360 TE? There's a known problem along those lines.

Yeah its 360. I know ive read a lot about the RH button on TEs going out completely but luckily that hasnt happened yet. I played a lot today and no issues.

I've been debating between two fighting sticks, I'd like to get your opinions on them. I can get the Marvel Vs Capcom 2 TE stick for around 100$ or Super Street Fighter IV TE stick for 150$

Marvel 2 TE is neat but the L and R buttons are swapped for some dumb reason. That's easily fixed with some wire switching though. Takes about 2 minutes.

Otherwise they are the exact same stick iirc, other than art.

In terms of parts, both sticks are equal so the MvC2 stick is a better value.

notworksafe, the SSFIV sticks have an updated PCB that locks start and select when the lock switch is active

Oh right, I should know that considering I have a stick that does that. But yeah I'd say just go with the Marvel TE and swap the wire plugs so it works like a normal TE.

Hey guys, I just got the Tatsunoko vs Capcom arcade stick, it's my first one ever, but the A button is messed up, it's so sensitive that even tapping the plastic around it can make it go off. I really didn't want to open it up as soon as I got it, since I never did something like this, but if it has to be done... sending it back seems like a huge hassle.

Any help?

That's how it is with my TvC stick. The buttons are so sensitive I can't even rest my fingers on them. I do prefer it that way though. Anyway, instead of getting a replacement, you can always swap them out for Seimitsu buttons which actually need to be pushed in for them to register.
