Here is another alternative
Custom Circle Gates for Sanwa sticks

I use these because I hate to feel edges when I play. I'd recommend them.

and this guy does pre cut art.

I saw this site but couldn't find anything on Qanba sticks. Ill keep looking

By contrast, going from square to octogonal was a fucking nightmare for me. Used my friends' SE the other night on PS3 and it was some crazy, loose, what the hell is all this empty space shit. QCFx2 wasn't even trying to come out for me, missed mad opportunities with Hugo, etc.

Square all the way--specifically Seimitsu LS-32. I can't see for the life of me how octogonal makes move easier to be honest.

Yeah I was complaining about how easy octagonal was compared to gate long ago in this thread due to just jumping in with the fighting stick 3 and not knowing there was a difference. Still have to work on my fighting skills in general, but after putting in some KOF XI and SFA anthology time, I was ready for SE fightstick with SFIV, Marvel, and Blaz.

About to upgrade to a HRAP VX-SA, so cant wait for that.

Ok, my Marvel v Capcom stick had fucking TEA dumped on it by my father-in-law, so now my home and turbo buttons don't work. Yeah, talk about major let down. I've even taken it apart and can't seem to fix it. So...I'm on the hunt for a new stick and have found the one I want. However, it appears to be sold out everywhere. It's the SF4 Black Tourney Edition for PS3. Can anyone help, please??

Good to see the square gate supporters out in force. :D BEST GATE IS SQUARE GATE.

Yeah Art does not print art for Q4 yet.

Best, thing you can do is grab the photoshop template and get it printed at a graphics print shop.

You can even try asking 'em to cut it for (take the plexi down too)

Take the stick apart and try cleaning the PCB where the TEA ended up on with rubbing alcohol and let it dry, than test again. (Might want to wait do it at night than let it sit overnight)

Questions for Markman:

Any chance I can import new stick overseas?

Have you noticed that the Sanwa buttons over the years have varied in plunger height and just feel.

I have Sanwa buttons from 2000, 2003(were never installed till this year) and of course the Sanwa buttons that came with my TE; I noticed that the Sanwa buttons seem to clearly feel different (I prefer the slightly higher plunger size) in the TE than the buttons from 2000 and 2003 can you post why this is the case? Seeing as you have the biggest arcade stick collection (along with being the man that gave birth to the TE) I'm sure you would have noticed this yourself.

Sorry to quote this post near the end of last page. Just hoping Markman does not miss it.

I'm gonna need to pick up a stick for my 360 and I was wondering if there are any notable differences between the Madcatz Fightstick TE-S and the Hori Real Arcade Pro VX SA. The Hori is much cheaper so if I go with that I'm wondering if I will be missing much.

The VX has a slightly shorter cable and is weighs less than the TE-S. Other than that they're pretty similar, aside from the start button location. Both use the same Sanwa parts.

Hey Markman - are the SFxT sticks shipping soon? Noticed the product page no longer says Preorder and my order is "In Process".

aweeeeeeesome

Any chance we'll see other color variations of the SFxTK stick? I love the design with the sloped edge, but really dislike the red base. (prefer black)

Also, any US-based stores sell the Qanba Q4? It looks sick, buy shipping is a deal-breaker.

Thanks! It seems the Hori will do the job. Also, I forgot about the SF X T sticks! What sets those apart in comparison?

I would imagine they will make other colors/art with that shape. I'd be very surprised if they didn't.
I'd love one with a 6 button astro city layout with the start button off to the side.

Qanba uses Sanwa stick's don't they? These are compatible.

So you're saying the TE cut out's can be used on the Qanba sticks? They seemed like different sizes to me, I will have to check out dimensions. Unless I am mis-reading this.

My mistake I was commenting on the restrictor gate not the plexi.

Just bought the Street Fighter x Tekken stick =)

But I'm not digging the Xbox 360 button colors. Looks like I'll be modding my first stick.

I'm watching Combofiend and Clockwork talk about their Project GiantSword sticks while playing MVC3. Never heard of them before so I look them up. Really nice sticks. Oh, modded for every platform I'll probably need? Awesome, I'll have to pick one up.

Hey guys. First time really getting into fighting games. I've been using one of those MadCatz Pads from SF4, but I've gotten bit by the bug with stuff like Third Strike, SFxT, Garou, and the new KoF.

What's a good newbie stick?

Actually i'd just go ahead and suggest a TE if you're planning on modding a SE/Brawl Stick. If you're just gonna stick with the stock stick and buttons, then brawlstick is fine - gamestop has them for $59.

Hello guys, apologies for this late post. Here is a pic of the bottom/interior of the FightStick PRO. The stick actually started shipping this morning after this weekend's orders processed.

First off, Mad Catz does not condone you opening up your stick/voiding your warranty unless qualified to do so. If you feel you are qualified, go for it, just know you voided your warranty and we are not obligated to warranty your product.

Alright, on with the show... First off! We wanted to take a more secure approach for the stick. As you know there are no top/hex screws on the FightStick PRO, instead there are TEN (10) screws on the bottom. Two different screw sizes. This may make people whine at the sheer thought of it, but hear me out.

There are smaller screws (same size as the ones on the SE) and then there are the 4 rubber feet held screws (bigger). Obviously the 10 screws total is to keep the bottom panel secured, however, the 4 rubber footheld screws are enough to keep the bottom plate on/secure. So modders will most likely eliminate using the smaller SE style screws and take them out completely. From there, you have 4 larger/standard size screws that are big/won't strip and easy to take off. So with modding in mind/and ease of use. 4 large standard size cross screws and you're in. Here's the pics:

6100968465_a0c17f61f0_b.jpg

Bottom Panel. You can see most of the screws here (the others are hiding under the bigger ones).

6101515098_c33582d934_b.jpg

The larger screw.

6101515118_9ea6d38bf9_b.jpg

The smaller (SE Style) screw.

6101515162_f878eac27b_b.jpg

Now you have access to the interior. Swapping sticks & buttons should be a breeze. If you need to gain access to the top panel/artwork area for an art mod, then you'll have to go further and unscrew the easy to find screws (notice the red gunk) around the frame of the FightStick PRO. If you are familiar with the SE FightStick, the artwork is applied in the same manner. You don't have to take the stick apart, but you can if you want.

The bottom white frame was designed in mind with a thin layer of plastic, perfect for mounting 'other' PCB solutions.

The Start & Back/Select buttons are a lot more accessible than the TE FightSticks. As you can see in the picture. Also, the PCB area is underneath where start/select are.

Sorry this is just a short/quick look into the insides. I didn't have much time to pull one apart today. Hope this helps somewhat.

My first stick just arrived :D Ah, let the frustration and many hours in training mode begin! At least I can play my music in the background.

Please post impressions after using. One hangup for me might be the select/start buttons not being right next to each other. God knows how many times I push that combo in MvC3 training mode.

Where'd you order from?

I was putting some new art on my TE-S and when I put it all back together my stick stopped working. I took the stick out, put it in my SE and it works. Now none of the joysticks i have work in my TE. Any ideas as to whats wrong?

Sounds like a loose/broken wire. If it doesn't work in any direction I'd check the ground wire on the harness first.

Love the look of the SFxT sticks. I've been jealous of Daigo for a while since I've seen him hauling his around (and his awesome skills! XD) tournaments for a while now.

MarkMan, how does it fair to the regular SF4 TE stick or is it more the size of the S design?
