I'm trying to come up with a good idea.
Not quite, but you got way closer than I did. The piece I remember seeing was full color, with that distinctive Shinkiro shading style and it was before UAS got announced. I recall wanting to import the game, seeing that art, and being disappointed that Speed wouldn't be in the game, yet they had art drawn up.
I need to figure out a good idea as well but i play on submiting!
Also any reviews on the Hori SC5 stick?

My Sanwa JLF-TP-8YT-SK Joystick broke yesterday. For some reason after putting it in my bag and bringing it to my local fighting game group, down, right, and left stopped working. I need to buy a new one, or look at buying a new TE. And I'm poor right now. Fuck. Maybe I should start taking pictures of my existing (broken) stick in order to try and get a new one... Where's the cheapest place to get a replacement one?

That sounds suspect that RIGHT DOWN and LEFT stopped working. Try plugging the 5 pin in the other way. This is something that happens when the 5 Pin adapter is plugged in wrong, all directions are inop cept one.

X-Arcade has always been overpriced shit.

So this can happen after working perfectly for a while? Nothing has been changed, and it's worked for a very long time. Speaking of sticks, I'm jealous of those Eightarc sticks. I was thinking of picking one of those up as a replacement stick since mine isn't working. I'm going to putz with it some more to see if I can fix it.
EDIT - FIXED IT. PINS CAME LOOSE. FUCK YEAH. ...I still sorta want one of those Eightarc sticks. Hahah.
I got the SC5 Hori stick. Going to replace the buttons with some sanwas of the same color, but other than that stick is awesome. Great size, great weight. I really like the shape and look of it. Also, the USB cord is super short. I guess I'm just use to the TE length.

Any USB extension cable will do the trick. Careful not to get a combined length over 15 feet though, as I hear there can be latency - though there are ways around that too such as externally powered USB hubs.
15 feet is plenty.
Stick is such a good weight and size. It was a gift, and my girlfriend said she didn't buy the 360 version because she didn't like the colors of the buttons...lol. I'm sure it would be easier to dual mod that than the ps3 stick.

I could be wrong! Don't take my word for it. I have several sticks and the sanwa feel different on each. It was just my first impression.

Damn classy looking stick, the PS3 version...but I'm a sucker for anything Hori. Can't wait to see the Hori SE versions in the coming year or so (crosses fingers).

since the X-Arcade's are junk, do you know of any other companies that make a decent stick with the bat style stick?
Only thing I can find is used sticks on ebay that people have already modded the stick....
Just buy a bat-top and install it on a stick yourself. Its a real easy procedure. All you need are phillips and flathead screwdrivers.

It's not really a mod when you just have to screw the top in.
It'll be a mod if you are looking for a real american (no-clicky) stick, switches and all.

^I would avoid lizard lick, they've been really sketchy as of late.
It depends on what you want, really. You can put a bat top on a Sanwa/Seimitsu stick, but they still have a very different feel from a more typical US/EU style stick from Happ or IL.
Who's the go-to store then? FocusAttack is the only other one I have dealt with.
My MAS stick is really really seeing it's age. It's 10 years, old, the plastic cover is coming off, two buttons don't work (i've replaced some before), it's a ps2 (so I have to use a converter), and the wiring is starting to become iffy.
I'm curious if it's possible to buy a hori stick and mod it to use Happ parts (that's what original mas use right?). If so what would be my best options in doing so. I doubt i'd need a top of the line stick parts since I'd be replacing a good portion of it.

That's too bad. From Lizard Lick is the only place I've ever ordered. They even shipped me a free balltop once.
That was probably a year ago though.

I'm still waiting on my Seimitsu LS-56-01 to ship on an order I made on 01/21/2012. I e-mailed them to check the status of my order, but they haven't responded. In 2 days I plan on e-mailing them again since that will be the 5-10 days (estimated packaging time) for them to retrieve the item from the supplier and the 24-48 hours estimated time to ship the package..
It's my first time ordering from lizard lick and so far I'm not too content with their service. Paradise arcade shop in Hawaii is very fast and quick to respond. Lets just say I made the wrong choice trying lizard lick instead.

How to enter:
First, you will need some type of arcade stick and some type of camera/phone camera. Be creative and photograph the stick (or sticks) in some type of creative location, juxtaposition, etc. Try to surprise. Photography skills are not really important, creativity is! Feel free to manipulate the image however you feel...JUST DON'T USE PHOTOSHOP TO BREAK CONTIGUOUS SPACE...stick(s) must be in a physical environment. Take the stick apart, use a candy cab...anything you want so long as a stick is in the photo. Indoors, outdoors, etc.
PM me your photo by the end of February 15, 2012 and I'll collect them all, resize them if I can figure it out, and then show them in this thread, unmarked from who they came from. Not sure how we will pick the winner, maybe collectively, maybe MarkMan will want to pick the best one...I'll let you know around the 15th through the 20th when I post all the entrants.

So i ended up buying the Qanba Q4. My first stick ever yay!
Im at my parents house so i dont have a console to test it so i coded a small Unity app to check the buttons and such. Im quite impressed by how sensible the buttons are :3
The 3 in 1 thing is pretty awesome, the whole package is beyond my expectations.
