Hitbox controllers are back in stock. After waiting all this time, I'm suddenly having second thoughts about getting one. That's probably for the best.

Cheers guys, I resoldered (almost as badly as it was before) the USB cable back on the PCB and put it all back together and it seems to be working ok except for the Xbox guide button.

It's definatley not the button lock enabled (start/select work) the 3 connectors that are attached to the other PCB, could I have them mixed up? if so any idea which way round they go?

I want to see someone win Evo with a stock Namco PS1 stick. Those are my favorite Hori clone parts ever.

Someone already did, awhile back. Ryan Hart won TTT with one before.

That got me thinking, are there any other stories of somebody winning a major tournament with an old/crappy/weird arcade stick?

Tournaments are typically crowded with custom Hori's and Madcatz TE sticks, but are there any top players out there rocking some cheap-o or outdated stick?

At EVO 2002, I think. Someone placed in top 8 using a Shadowblade from Interact.

I had some Sanwa buttons and a matching balltop on order. After paying for 3-day priority shipping, I was starting to get irritated on Day 11 when they still hadn't arrived.

I decided to go online and check the tracking information on the shipment (which I didn't realize was offered at the time of purchase). And guess what...

My order was delivered to some completely different address 6 hours from where I live.

How the FUCK does that happen? I contacted the company, and they verified that they used the correct address on the shipping label. Is the USPS being run by monkeys or something these days? Some bastard out there has my buttons and balltop, and he probably has no clue what they are or where they came from.

DDR mats, Beatmania, Popnmusic or Para Para Paradise controllers.

beatmania and pop'n controllers don't have all the directional inputs available to the player (and in fact the pop'n controller is constantly firing three directions in order to identify itself to the game). Also, the Para Para Paradise controller uses some proprietary USB interface.

But along these lines, it's not exactly Evo-caliber play, but...

Also, there's these other games I tried this with, and had a better camera setup for:

Tada

Preorder

I actually really like this stick design. I think the minimalist color scheme balances out the busy-ness of the design.

Too bad I just bought a stick three months ago :(

I still haven't gotten a response to my question of "Well, how do I do it right?"

Pretty simple, really... don't ride the gate. Learn how much pressure is actually needed to actuate each direction, don't grip the lever with a tight fist as to churn butter, etc. You can look up popular grip styles if you want, but it really boils down to practice.

Went to lizardlick.com because I need a coin mech and I remembered seeing those in their catalog. I know I'd heard they'd become unreliable but what the heck.

The site is gone.

Holy shit. I just went to see for myself and sure enough, you speak truth! I'll bet there's a story on the SRK boards that explains it.

Trying to remove the joystick on my HRAP3 and one of the JLF mounting screws just keeps spinning in place. Tried using a flat head to elevate and tried to pull towards me while screwing counter clockwise. It just spins, regardless of what direction in screwing at. Really damn irritating.

Owning a stick never stopped me from getting another.

It probably should.

If I had enough expendable cash I would honestly consider starting a collection but as a recent college graduate that's not really an option right now

Whenever I see people like Markman and Yes Boss show off their stuff I get a little jealous

Basically LizardLick scammed a whole bunch of people out of their money and disappeared from the face of the Earth. They recommended people file chargebacks with their CCs to get their money back. That's a deathwish for any serious seller, so they're not coming back.

I've been enjoying mines for a while now. If you still want one I might suggest the Dual PS3/360 one they are about to release.

I'd rather not go saying they scammed anyone. They were a very reputable and reliable seller with great support. I know I and many, many other people swore by them until all activity with the site just up and stopped. I really would like to know what actually happened because I was a customer of their's for over 5 years.

Now I get my wares from paradise arcade shop and get pretty much the same service, and they're in Hawaii!

I ordered a bat top and an octo gate and was pleased with their serviced. Would have ordered the JLF had they not gone awol.

oh shit, sad to see lizardlicks going down in such fashion. the things that ive always hated is that there is no way to buy directly from sanwa or seimitsu. and there are no Official distributors.

I agree - never had issues with them, but I do know a lot of people did. Seemed like he got overwhelmed with orders at one point, but that doesn't explain skipping town.

Unless...it was CRACK! :p

I wonder what really went on, because I got a full refund from LizardLick after an email or two. Also not exactly what you would do if you were solely looking to scam people. But at this point, they should just be administering group refunds to anyone with a pending order.

Ah I see now, it just adds the one with the poster instead. Yeah I'm not sure if it's sold out and they're just adding the other version (which would be odd) or if the discount just gets applied later when you're about to checkout.

Ah thanks. I'll just go for the one with the poster then. Stick is already pricey and didn't really want to pay extra shipping for a poster (hopefully it is folded and low profile).

USD,

Gonna go with CD Japan special request since they were awesome with the Gundam stick.

I'm guessing you're aware of the costs, because it will be quite expensive:

Product price: 13980 JPY = ~175 USD (Poster version: 15540 JPY = ~194 USD)
Domestic (Japan) shipping cost: 5000 JPY= ~62 USD
CDJapan service fee: 2796 JPY = ~35 USD (3108 JPY = ~39 USD)

272 USD + CDJapan shipping (295 USD + shipping)

Yeah :-(

$300-ish seems to be the going price to import sticks these days. Stick is over-priced for what it is but I have a fondness for sticks that are released for online-only games. And I really, really liked the first little Exar sanwa stick. Kinda fun, too, getting a stick from the famitsu store.

Anyways, I put in a request so we will see if CD Japan can get it. They are handling my Hori Edge sticks too. I they do get it for me and the poster comes with it I'll just donate it to somebody in the GG thread, or _dementia, if you want it since you are a GG superfan.

My wallet is getting dented this year thanks to all the sticks coming out...

This year, new releases...

  • HORI Gundam VS Arcade Stick - PS3 x 2
  • HORI Fighting Edge - PS3 x 2
  • HORI Fighting Edge - Xbox 360 x 2
  • EXAR Guilty Gear XX AC Plus - PS3 x 2
  • HORI Real Arcade PRO Premium VLX "Diamond" - PS3 - x 4
  • HORI Aquapazza LE - PS3 - x 2
  • HORI Persona 4 Ultimate in Mayonaka Arena V3 - PS3 x 2
  • HORI Mini-Stick 3 - Black x 1
  • HORI Mini-Stick 3 - Blue x 1
  • HORI Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown V3-SA - PS3 x 1

And then the Razer one if it comes out this year... That's a lot of stuff.

I just think a more dynamic style works better with Persona than a large pic of Charlie Tunoku with everyone else just stacked on the side like a pile of bricks.

Does it look amazing? No, but at least it catches the eye a bit more.

I'm working on a P3 custom now that should blow them both out of the water! :D

Does anyone know if there is a list of Wii games compatible with the Tatsunoko stick? I just got one brand new from GameStop for $13 and don't know what I can play on it besides Virtual Console games, Tatsunoko vs Capcom, and Brawl.

Right now the stick is just sitting next to a friend's Femme Fatale and my MvC2 stick. I definitely want to use it tonight though.

I am also thinking about asking someone I know who lives 2 hours away to grab the only other two sticks left for sale at GS in the state. That way I could mod one and have a spare for a buddy to use.

Jesus.

My wallet is getting a bit raped too. Got all of those ordered or bought but only quantity 1. Do have three Hori Edge sticks preordered, though. I went for the mini black Hori since the blue is a bit ugly. Might cancel Aquapazza, wish it had a colored case. It is a great year for sticks. Got all the Mad Catz sticks released this year except the Line. Hopefully EVO fightstick is neat, and obtainable...looking forward to that one.

Here is what I got earlier this year (I blame you MarkMan!) and all are waiting for me in Cali:

Sigma Seimitsu Supergun Sticks x2 (for my Ibaras!)
Analogue Interactive Black Wood Neo Geo x1
Eightarc Sapphire Seimitsu x1
Qanba Q4 SE Red x1
Qanba SA White Cloud x1
Micomsoft PC Engine x1
Turbo Stick PC Engine x1
Hori Soul Calibur V PS3 x1
Hori Soul Calibur V 360 x1
Hori UMVC PS3 x1
Hori Gundam Stick x1
Mad Catz Soul Stick PS3 x1
Mad Catz SFxT Cross Fightstick PS3 x1
Mad Catz SFXT VS 360 with linking app. x2

A little bit of everything and some new Korean sticks. Really looking forward to the upcoming clear eightarc stick, EVO fightstick, Hori Edges.

I also scored a pair of the TvsC sticks from GameStop and had a friend pick me up the WWE stick for 360. I would really like to put a Cthulhu board in both of the Wii sticks for use on all of my old systems(and maybe PS3, though i could just use the Mayflash adapter for that). I also am going to pick up a WWE pad to hopefully make one of the two Wii sticks 360 compatible as well.

Ultimately, what I am thinking would work is that I can put a DPDT switch in one which i could use to choose either wii or 360/ps3/etc(let's just ignore that line because it's idiocy and I'm attempting to come across as...not an idiot). I'd add the RJ45 port and ultimately have two cords coming out of the stick, the classic controller cord and one usb cord(for both 360/ps3). Would this be possible? The other stick would just have the cthulhu installed with an RJ45 port and the classic controller cord coming out. Would I still need a switch for that?

I love that I finally have joined the world of arcade sticks, but the ladyfriend is displeased that i just added three big toys to our already cluttered space. I was thinking this would be a fun project for us(her soldering skills put me to shame) and also make my three new toys easier to swallow. If between the three sticks I could create the option for two sticks on any one of my systems, I think she would be much happier about the purchase. Plus, we'd both be proud of our mod work. Thanks for your help!

New update on PS360+. On April 17th they mentioned that it wouldn't ship until mid May, and now it seems that they will finally reveal the release date on Friday (hopefully?).
