Highlighting mistakes of a console isn't a reason to be banned, unless said bannerrerr is deranged.

Can't say I agree with that assessment entirely. I engaged with darkestdame in all sorts of threads and called him out plenty of times, but I never got the impression that he was just trolling (as in only saying things to get a rise out of people and not necessarily genuinely believing those things). Some stuff was out of line sure, but permanent removal seems a bit extreme to me is all. Oh well!

In this case, I define trolling as trying to get a rise out of people, while believing those things.
I saw quite a bit of Darkest, and he never, not once, came off as someone who was genuine about having a conversation with other members. He was always pushing his own narrative as dishonestly as possible, enjoying the chaos he seeded, and when confronted with an opposing argument, simply amped up those attributes even more.
It’d be a whole different story for my opinion, if Darkest tried to engage with other members, talk with them, and contribute to the forum. I don’t have to agree with this person, for him to be a good poster.
For example, Imagine if he made a great post on... say, how he thinks socialized medicine is a great idea, and worked hard on presenting his argument? Really presented some food for thought, and engaged meaningfully with critics in the replies? Granted, a lot of us would disagree, lol, but the effort in such a thing would be apparent, and those threads would go a whole different way.
Instead, we got thousands of variations on Orange man bad, low-effort bait, and constant, persistent dishonesty and aggressiveness, that persisted past multiple mod warnings, bans, and a custom tag.
That isn’t fun or enjoyable to be around, and that is ultimately what people come here for.
You yourself, even in a forgiving appraisal of him, had to admit he was often disingenuous. Who really wants a person like that around?

This was his whole existence on the site in a few sentences - it was so blatantly obvious that his only purpose here was to poke and prod with ZERO interest in actual discussion. As you said, if asked or challenged on anything he would just ignore the question, divert, deflect or respond with another GOT'YA TRUMP question in return typically with a LOL
thrown in as well. I was often baffled why some members kept putting so much time and effort into their replies to him when he would never respect the effort or respond to it in any meaningful way anyway.idkisaidit
