The only post I can think of that may have caused the trouble was in the "Valve and Xbox partnership coming soon?" thread where I posted this (and I'm paraphrasing because it was deleted):

"Being an Xbox fan these days means getting excited for corporate news instead of games. Soon enough all of you will be buying suspenders and eating breakfast while watching Bloomberg on the TV."

After the things I've read (and been called) in this forum, I can't believe this is cause for a ban warning and I don't agree at all. If this aligns with the forum rules (which I doubt) I don't accept said rules because they attempt against the most elementary freedom of speech. In fact, I'm so against the whole procedure being applied to me that I will be leaving the forum entirely today.

With my departure nothing of value was lost, besides my respect for NeoGAF as a platform. I registered looking for the exact opposite of this kind of moderating policies and I was clearly wrong.

EDIT: Aaaaand the thread where this was posted got deleted and my post buried in the complaints bin. Bye NeoGAF indeed.

To be fair I always think it is best to tell people why what they are doing is perceived as detracting or unproductive. Help them expand their horizons and learn something about themselves and others. Much better than chasing them out with pitchforks. As tempting as it is to tell someone, "don't let the door hit you on your way out" it isn't always the right thing to do.

Granted that can be really hard to do when someone comes in leading with:

"MODS WHY AM I BANNED I AM INNOCENT AND THIS ISNT FAIR BECAUSE YOU DIDNT BAN THE PONY XBOT I SAW POST PHIL SPENCER'S PORTRAIT IN OTHER THREAD"

Which brings me to my next thought.

Just a tip for the next person to come in here to appeal. Maybe try approaching with: "Hi, I'd like to better understand what happened here. I'd like an opportunity to be better and/or clear the air if there was a misunderstanding". It will do you better than blaming mods and/or your fellow console warriors on the opposing side of your holy war. Honestly, best way to approach all conflicts-work related, dating, friendships, etc. Blaming others is never going to help your cause.

Also console warriors out in force - lots of dumb posts lately. People with the emotional maturity of a possessive middle school boyfriend/girlfriend. Lacking the self-awareness to realize that 99.9% of the "gotchas" are forum fodder that do not matter to the larger market. Have fun fighting between the 45 yard lines. An impressive fight but neither of you will score a touchdown.

In the past bunch of months, I never seen more console fan warriors banned. This year has been a fanboy kill list compared to 2019.

Maybe not the right place to post this but just wanted say iv been having a blast being back to neogaf! Its great to be able to have actual discussions with people and most people seem respectful at the same time. Its all in good spirit!
I just hope il be able to use my neo gaf ps4 theme on the ps5. Or someone more skillful than me can create one for the ps5!!

Then there is this guy who was warring hardcore to defend the Series X's honor in the Ryan McCaffery thread and I assumed that's how he caught a ban, but apparently he was all over the forum insulting people.

Any person I see being a fan warrior, where I skim his posts and like 99.5% of the posts is console thread bickering, defending, and never even showing one ounce of having fun and admitting their platform can have some bad games or features. There's got to be an extremely high correlation to being an employee at said platform.

Lots of us have fun being showing preference for a certain platform, but at least we post in other threads and tabs. Console posts are only a portion of total post history.

There is no way a good portion of these kinds of posters who spend all their typing life warrioring are just doing it for the heck of it. They got to be employees at head office working in marketing, or interns hired to scour social media and game forums to defend the roost at all costs.

I doubt that the warriors on either side are employees, they're just unhinged. Most are way too obnoxious and annoying to do anything but cause people to dislike the brand they are shilling for. I know they have that effect o me.

Retro gaming can be played on Portables and Mobile. Therefore Mobile is higher than Nintendo.

A) I don't like people enough to spend money on them.
B) See A

It would be good for newcomers to want to make a good impression, then if they are taken out of context or have one bad ranty post, they aren't kicked to the curb immediately because they have good will behind them.

Am i too Soy? :unsure:

I might be the very opposite, I like most people. People are fun to hang out with, usually most shops I visit they don't forget my face due to jokes and banter sometimes. :lollipop_tears_of_joy: Don't lose faith on people, and when you have that attitude inside you it tends to surface on your face, so people in general don't really get to like you that easily in return especially from first impressions.

Being good with people makes your life easier as well most of the times. But you need to be very frank, but keep it as polite/funny/light-hearted as possible as some would rather take advantage of you if you don't draw any lines.
