True that. Its like politics. Who wants to be a politician and try and impose their view on everyone else? Generally not the type of person you want in change .

One thing I have noticed here, and maybe it's an oversight on my behalf, is that the mods don't normally post alot in the general forums. They keep out of things alot. Could be they have a mod account and a posting account, which I have seen on other forums, or maybe they don't want to be seen having bias in their posts so they keep it low key.

While I wandered through the wilderness of the internet, I realized that GAF is a refuge. It's a place that will accept you, for the most part. Even if you're brap brap or Cunth Cunth , you can find your place here. I missed you all.

It's an avant-garde band from Japan from guitar god Keiji Haino. Japan has an utterly fantastic experimental music scene, with Fushitsusha, Acid Mothers Temple, Ruins, Boris, Mouse on the Keys, Les Rallizes Dénudés, Boredoms, High Rise, Ground-Zero, Gerogerigegege and many, many others I'm forgetting.

If you're a normie, Japan also has EXCELLENT music that's a bit out there but very accessible:

It's better than that. He made an alt to falsely shit on Gaf, because he didn't want to risk his main account.

Bad enough that his behavior is so toxic (the real kind of toxic), but worse that he didn't even have the honor to stand behind it. I swear these types are rolled out on an assembly line, with all the same glaring character flaws.

It's unfortunate to see some people acting disrespectful to David Jaffe and anyone else who once created games. I will always like him for his work on Twisted Metal: Black and think it's cool to see him still post here, even if it isn't very often. But more to the point, if you just don't like how someone posts something, either ignore it or let them know, but be nice about it. Honestly I wish we had more industry people who felt comfortable posting here. That's the main thing I remember reading about GAF like a decade ago and hopefully one day we can see more game creators, new and old, posting with us. In the meantime we should be mindful of our words and not get so easily worked up.
 
I understand that he edited his post to include more... well, post, lol, whereas it was a bit threadbare before?

I love Jaffe's work, and that the guy that made God of War just casually strolls in sometimes, but I like that he's held to the same standards that we all are.

The only thing I never want again, is (taking a break from negativity, so imagine colorful adjectives here) console warriors doing something like freaking out on Digital Foundry personnel. Normal criticism is good, and keeps us all in line.

He edited in two lines, honestly and he had plenty of posts discussing stuff with people in the thread. It's one thing to ask him what the two things are if you can't watch his video but they kinda went straight into asshole mode on him, not to mention since it was positive for PS5 I think a bit of it actually WAS console warring stuff (even though the guy is on record that he thinks SONY is going to lose to the likes of Gamepass and Stadia)

Rereading it, a little column A, a little of column B?

No matter who you are, dropping a video as a response, or as the point of your thread, with no context, has never been particularly welcomed on a message board. Someone got banned for constantly doing the first, months ago.

I think Jaffe gets a little bit of a pass for self-promotion (and it definitely is. Zero content in that thread, other than to set the viewer up to watch the video), on account of how much we like him, and want to hear his thoughts, but I'm not going to have a problem with Gaffers applying wider internet rules to him.

Hopefully, Jaffe takes a little of that to heart, and if people got too out of line (I didn't read through the whole thread), they take it to heart just how privileged we are to have a legendary creator here, and also generally dial it back a little.

I agree, normal criticism is fine. I guess I should have been more specific; lame gag1990 ended three of his posts in the thread by telling the OP and Explosive Zombie to get fucked, so he clearly didn't like David Jaffe. Hopefully when he returns from his ban he will be less dickish towards users.
