I'm not going to lie, this is my Personal favorite.
(Sorry, I had to go there. It really is my personal favorite, though.)
I do think these are the most likely to draw in new players.

Friends, I received a warning last night via spider messenger about some potential dangers in using Discord.
This, unfortunately, is not the first I've heard of these Discord raiding parties. A couple of months ago, I quietly removed the Gafia Discord links from the main page of Outer Gafia. Later this morning I will be checking and cleaning most of the publicly accessible links. Meanwhile, I advise you to check out the settings mentioned above. I have not looked at them, but they seem like a good idea. I would ask that you consider adding me to your friends list, too.
So far, we haven't had any serious problems with Discord, and I'm going to fight to keep it that way.

Although I did come up with an idea that would probably scare Retro.
Psh, I hardly do anything but offer my opinion and make snarky comments. People like Retro, Ouro, Ynnny, Sorian, Royal, the other game runners, etc, are what really keep Gafia going.
I agree. Lots of awesome and helpful people here. I appreciate all the time you've all put in even in just the small period since I joined.

You need to do something now.
Here is the big secret: You know how people always think making a game is hard and takes a long time? Yeah...no. We just press a button on a giant machine and it spits out a theme and design. People here saying they want to run a game with a certain theme? Then they already pressed the button and know which theme they need to run, if they want to or not, because they are now bound with a blood pact to run it.
On a unrelated note, who is interested in...ehm....Care bears mafia! Yep, because I love Care bears! It's my favorite!
Okay, aside from the time that Discord went crazy and we had to ban Roy.
Bows. It is, as always, my pleasure to help. I love this community, but I don't have time to host games or play. (Maybe that will change in 2018? Who knows.) So for now I keep the machines running.
I realized last night that we are finally at the point where if I wanted to step away from the community, I probably could, because enough people understand the various systems that Gafia could go on without me. But don't worry, I'm not going anywhere.

I've been made aware that Mafia Universe is working on their yearly Mafia Championship Invitational. They have a list of communities in their setup thread, and we're on it, so I would guess that we'll be receiving another invitation.
Last year, we had players volunteer themselves as potential tributes, and then we held a vote. I am thinking we'll probably do the same this year.
Be warned - Mafia Universe is a much more serious group of players than we are, and the level of activity on overall play required is much, much higher than we expect. If you want to go, you might bring glory back to Gafia, but you will have to work for it.
Like I said, we haven't gotten an invite yet, but be thinking about it, and I'll let you know if/when I hear something.

Can you speak to the level of play that's required at Mafia Universe for us? Just so people have an idea what they may be getting into.
