Surprisingly there's plenty of contenders that shits on Infinite in every way possible

Astro Bot is the only game on this list that I actually finished... but Elden Ring is cool as fuck, and even though I couldn't ever "git gud" I'd say it's the best game that's come out of this generation so far.

I voted Baldur's Gate 3 for the following reasons:

• Halo Infinite is not GOTG material, and this is from someone who actually enjoyed the game.
• Elden Ring is no doubt a great game, but the gameplay (souls-like) is far more niche than first-person shooters and role-playing games.
• Baldur's Great 3 (not a typo) was a very unique game with massive replayablity.
• Astro Bot... well, I haven't played it as I don't own a PlayStation 5. I have heard it is awesome, but I can't vote for a game I haven't experienced.

If someone votes for Elden Ring, I would understand (although I reacted with a triggered emoji to EviLore for the lulz). If someone votes for Astro Bot, I cannot argue against it. If someone votes for Halo Infinite, they should probably be permabanned for wrong-think. I'm not going to try to enforce that last one, but maybe the admins/mods can get together and discuss it.

Baldur's Gate 3 was a terrific return to old-school CRPG goodness, but Elden Ring delivered the best exploration of any video game I've ever played.

Helldivers 2 is definitely up there, though, shame it's not on the list.

I chose Astro Bot because it was fun and my kids played the fuck out of it. With my oldest about to turn 9, the other games wouldn't suit them yet.

If TotK was on this I would vote that. BG3 lost me in act 3. It was just too much game really.

Need about 20 more games on that list. I can't take it seriously when Halo Infinite is listed there and and 2 dozen others are not.

edit-ah I see now that it's game of the year contenders. I have not played BG3 yet so I can't vote.

While ER is my most played game on Steam, it's still just ok at best. Never was a fan of Halo so fuck dat. Astro Bot lol. Baldurs Gate 3 easily so far, but not my goty.

The only game with staying power in my head this gen so far is Expedition33. Even Elden Ring doesn`t come close because despite being excellent it was a very familiar experience and kind of didn`t stand out among the other From games for me.<

I haven't played BG3. I have a LOT of issues with Elden Ring but I did play through it twice and I doubt I'll go back to Astrobot again so I'll give that my vote with an asterisk.
