I go on the indieheads reddit. Their taste is questionable but they're pretty good on reporting new releases.
Did you hear the last Juana album fucking fire

Thanks for the recs
Laurel Halo's new album is really good. She is easily in my top 10 of current day artists, her palette is just delightful
That album cover is great. It's hilarious
The new Japanese Breakfast leaked, I love it.
It looks way more professionally designed and shot than that. Yeah it looks silly but that's because its purposeful camp lol. I mean it's angus as a runaway bride with the artist and title in a black metal font, that's awesome and actually reflects an aesthetic idea. A million times better than another cover where an indie rocker tosses out a #TBT childhood photo as if anybody outside of family friends following them on instagram should give a shitI have been meaning to give that one a listen. Thanks for reminding me. It has been getting a good reviews
Looks like a bootleg copy of a demo he started in his garage with his 8 year old sister doing the design cover for him
On my 4th listen of the new HAIM album.
St. Vincent's new song is so obviously about Cara Delevigne it's not funny haha. Still good song. Already have my ticket to the gig in October
Is there a spotify playlist that gets updated with Indie music you'd all recommend? There are playlists I use for French and Japanese Indie stuff, but I don't know of a British/Canadian/American one.
Speaking of which, back when I was home I would listen to the Sirius channel that's for Canadian alt music, and that was like a whole new world. I'm not too familiar with the Canadian scene for the most part.
Ordered the deluxe LP. Should have it in a few days 🙂That's very helpful. Thank you!
I'm waiting for the legit drop for Japanese Breakfast. Looking forward to that!
Yeah, yikes that was bad. First one at least had a few catchy tracks that caught on.New haim is as awful as the first one. Though I think fleetwood mac suck too so like a photocopy of that with a bloodless sheen and Hansen sister band gimmick isn't likely to work for me.
Going to see Big Thief in September.
No opening acts currently listed. Interested to see who they play with. "Capacity" is growing on me. The two Shark songs and Mythological Beauty are great.
first is a little better but both are so frontloaded. "Falling" is a good song, then "Forever" was alright for a few listens before becoming grating, and the next 9 tracks are varying levels of bad. on the new one they can't even be good for a full song, "Want You Back" is decently catchy only until the godawful bridge and the entire rest of the album sucks.Yeah, yikes that was bad. First one at least had a few catchy tracks that caught on.
Album rules. So many riffs that are reminiscent of Thin LizzyGot recommended this band White Reaper, their recent album came out in April. It's good ol' garage rock.
I was pleasantly surprised by it. It's no You Forgot it in People, but then again, very few albums are.I'm into the Broken Social Scene album
