Just spent like an hour or so playing Rygar. I'm not the biggest fan.
1. The music really does suck. It's awful, with no cohesion to the composition and no thought into making it sound pleasing to the ear. It's functional, and has some melody, but it's not interesting and eventually becomes pretty grating.
2. Progression is a confusing mess. It makes you wander around, in and out of doors. There's no map. The clues all suck and are cryptic. Navigation is a pain.
