You mean Syria though. They bombed a nuclear reactor site in Libya not that long ago.
Heh, that's pretty cool. But I thought the Israelis are generally protesting vs. bad economy (rising prices etc.) or is it more focused on the current gov?The Iranian government is using Israel to distract its people from its failing, and the Israeli government is using Iran to distract its people from its failing.
Synergy!
Iran's been doing that for decades (look up Hezbollah).
http://www.haaretz.com/news/diploma...u-request-to-meet-with-obama.premium-1.464328An official in Jerusalem said that the prime minister's office sent the White House a message stating that although Netanyahu will spend only two and a half days on U.S. soil, he is interested in meeting Obama and is willing to travel to the U.S. capital specifically for that purpose. The official added that the White House rejected the request and said that at this time Obama's schedule does not allow for a meeting.
The White House's response marks a new low in relations between Netanyahu and Obama, underscored by the fact that this is the first time Netanyahu will visit the U.S. as prime minister without meeting the president.
Defense Minister Ehud Barak tried to ease the tension on Tuesday, saying that the differences between the U.S. and Israel should be ironed out "but behind closed doors."
CIA also trained and financed the Taliban (although they weren't called that at the time). Every government has financed proxy groups to carry out attacks.
Iran attacking Israel with a nuclear weapon is not the primary concern here.
Real concerns are
1. Iran becoming a regional power
There is not real credible opposition in Israel at the moment, but a lot of the anger is directed toward Netnayahu and the finance minister (who also happens to be a giant fucking idiot).Heh, that's pretty cool. But I thought the Israelis are generally protesting vs. bad economy (rising prices etc.) or is it more focused on the current gov?
The guy sounding like Magneto.
Obama refusing to greet Netanyahu during his upcoming US trip. Wow

KSA supposedly approved of that a long time ago (according to wikileak cables & common sense).
/beaten
Now why would Obama refuse to even meet him?
Seems out of character.

Pretty much. I'm not about to listen to a lesson on morals from Israel's leadership.World: Netanyahu has no clue what "Moral" actually means.
We'd be greeted as liberators.Iran's been 2 years away from a nuke for a decade plus now.
This too.Th irony being Israel (and the US) has already given Iran Causus Belli to go to War thanks to their assassination of Iranian scientists, civilians and military.
Discourse on GAF. Israel is a comic book villain.
Citation?
I thought the only reason Israel hasn't already attacked already is that the only way they can attack without refueling (would require US involvement) is over SA, which won't let them.
Is it possible that Iran is actually trying to create a neclear bomb, and Isreal is concerned about this? And due to the history of the region, actually fears for its own safety?
I know...a shocking development.
It's worse than you think.Given its founding, it's ironic how the country's politics have turned out.

Attack them all you like.
Just don't waste American resources doing so.
Bibi is being a petulant child. It's for the best that the adults of the world give him a time out.
Campaign plus debate prep if it's end of the month. First debate is on Oct. 3, but I dunno what dates Netanyahu will be at the UN.
Might have something to do with Bibi openly and blatantly attacking the US government today
He has no interest in going through Boehnor/Cantor all over again.
He needs to cool down a bit.
He really assaulted the US verbally on this and just seems to be trying to bait the US into action it doesn't need to take at the moment.
Bibi is being a petulant child. It's for the best that the adults of the world give him a time out.
He has a right to be concerned. Sanctions and talks are doing nothing to halt Iran's onward march towards a nuclear weapon capability.
They won't attack, because Israel knows they'd fail spectacularly without the US.
I don't want to get into "who is worse" arguments, it's kinda pointless, but the point is that Iran doesn't really have an territorial dispute with Israel.Hardly. Amount of FUD about Iran is overwhelming in media.
Reality is today Iran is better democracy than Israel now with people and minorities being more free. Most of anti-iran forces fear them because they are actively trying to be independent from mayor players like USA and Russia and since their new goverment overthrown dictatorship created by US-UK, most of mayor players can't believe they don't control their oil.
No doubt.I i was in shoes of Iran i would actively seek creation of n bomb. It would be like big sign: Fuck off and it would be actually effective (look at Pakistan)
They won't attack because the only way Bibi loses an election is through a failed attack on Iran. They won't attack, because Israel knows they'd fail spectacularly without the US.
Telephones exist.Doesn't mean you don't talk to the other side.
I can't imagine that he can't meet with him for like, 1-2 hours.
Doesn't mean you don't talk to the other side.
It's obvious to everybody that Iran is developing nuclear weapons. It's also obvious to everybody that military engagement in Iran would be a staggeringly bad move. Our number one Middle Eastern priority is less jihad, not more. Even Israel doesn't want to attack Iran -- that's why Netanyahu keeps trying to get the US to commit to doing it. Diplomat and commercial engagement with Iran is the only long-term solution, which, helpfully, is why we're doing it.
Rampant anti-semitism? They are represented in government WAY OVER their population percentage. It is pro-semitism. Here is this little country that gets money from us for their military telling us what we can and cannot do.Speaking of red lines...
We knew the Holocaust was ongoing and did nothing to stop it. If I were a Jew, especially given the rampant anti-semitism in the West, I'd be skeptical that the international community would ever approve action against Iran...not until Tel Aviv is obliterated, anyhow.
That assumes that war will halt that march when most analysis points to a delay by a period of 2-10 years. Unless the proposal is that we simply attack and then occupy Iran for a decade, plus.............

Certainly, but sanctions are doing nothing and Iran simply aren't playing ball. That and there really is no equivalent arab spring going on. ayatollah khomeini isn't about to be dethroned in the name of free and equal democracy any time soon.
Iran attacking Israel with a nuclear weapon is not the primary concern here.
Real concerns are
1. Iran becoming a regional power, which is their ultimate goal. It will greatly impact the region and the Shia vs Sunni conflict (Iran Vs Saudi Arabia)
2. Securing the current regime. What can you really do when the regime at power holds nuclear weapons?
3. State-sponsored terrorism, now with a nuclear power behind it.
4. Nuclear arms race (Saudi, Egypt, Turkey)
Dislike Israel all you want, but Iran with nuclear weapons is not a good thing in any scenario.
Do you really think this is only Israel's problem?
Hardly. Amount of FUD about Iran is overwhelming in media.

You have a far more optimistic view of Bibi's intentions than I do.It would seem to indicate that Nety is potentially looking for an exit from the brink.
If you agree that war will not stop the march to a nuclear arsenal, then why bother throwing billions of dollars into a war that would result in the deaths of who knows how many civilians and soldiers?
