They are called "adaptations" for a reason. They aren't made by the original authors.
Also, the "put a chick on it and make her gay" scene from South Park is mocking the people who can't stop complaining about wokeness, at the end of the episode Cartman apologizes to Kathleen Kennedy. It's probably the most nonsensical meme of all time.

It's really not that interpretation either, at all. They have an attempt at the end to "both sides" it just a little, which is in keeping with South Park's whole history. It's basically the "we need pussies and dicks" bit from Team America.
But if you don't think the outright mockery of Kathleen was genuine, you're missing the point as badly as anyone could. The only moderating message at the end was "she probably wouldn't have become this insufferably awful if the other side didn't keep flaming and exacerbating it." In other words, another future could happen if we could end the war... but the episode's verdict on what she has actually done in her career at Disney--her actual body of work--was unambiguously that it is all soul crushingly awful.

In the end, if the show's good I don't care either way, but I find it funny how in these shows and games they cover the characters up female characters more to deemphasize sexuality, yet in real life, it's the complete opposite.

It's sad really, all these streaming services can have great shows if they focused on actually telling a good story and aiming it at the audience it has. Instead they aim at certain people/minority who don't watch that stuff and wonder why it bombs
Cyberpunk Edgerunners is a good example of being a great show since they made sure to have a great story and cast. Also aiming it at the right audience too is what made it a HUGE success
I'm not holding my breath on the sequel anime being any good. I have a feeling that Netflix is gonna to try to control certain aspects of that show since like every other Western Entertainment Company, they just can't help themselves

Like I said in my post you quoted, this is has less to do with "woke" more to do with character design being not all that great.
It's subjective but I personally find artstyle very ugly.
