I'm really not interested in high school Peter again. I just want married Peter and MJ. Whatever, at least renew your vows is coming which gives me one Spider-man property to care about.

Didn't see anything posted.

I'm looking forward to this reboot since I watched the first season of Ultimate Spider-Man and wasn't too impressed with that show. It spent way too much time focusing on guest heroes/villians instead of Spidey's core cast. Heck in the first season I think we got a grand total of four of Spidey's major villains over 26 episodes.

The Family Guy style cut away gags did not fit the character at all either, and felt more like a Deadpool kind of thing.

Also, Ultimate Spidey felt like the most immature incarnation of Peter yet were he constantly acted irresponsible despite that being the entire character's catalyst for becoming a super hero.

Back to basics in this case sounds good to me, although I'm a bit disappointed we're going back to high school instead of college, or an era with Peter as a young adult. Here's hoping at least that the show turns out decent.

Get Greg Weisman & Josh Keaton on board & I'm happy.

Though I suppose this means that both Avengers & Guardians may see reboots in the near future. Maybe Marvel can finally get a new X-Men cartoon going, but I won't get my hopes up.

Going back to the basics, eh? So we get to see Uncle Ben die yet again?
The MCU as well as both recent Spidey cartoons (Spectacular & Ultimate) glossed over the origin. I'd be shocked if they didn't do the same here.

I just want a third/fourth season of spectacular :( , they could seriously just re-air it at this point , it's 7 years old now. Put season 1 and 2 up on whatever channel is airing this and then have season 3 air next fall with season 4 the fall after that. It's already got High school spiderman (in fact each season was supposed to be a literal season of the year during his 10th or 11th year of school)

I don't know how to feel, I want Josh Keaton back, I want them to continue spectacular, and I know none of that is going to happen. So I hope its just as good as spectacular which I have pretty big doubts

Greg Weisman had whole book filled with notes on what the history of that Marvel Universe was and why no other superheroes were around at the time.

He was waiting for Sony/Marvel to let him pull the trigger.

Weisman is a smart guy, he's not staring at his phone, waiting for a response. Spectacular ain't getting continued. Maybe if he wanted to make a comic or something, but that's it.

Please, for god's sake, don't be as bad as Ultimate Spider-Man. Dear lord, what a train wreck. The animation can be terrible for all I care as long as the rest of it is top tier. Spectacular Spider-Man looked awful and had choppy animation but it's still by far the best Spidey show.

This is Disney though, so it'll likely be another toy commercial.

Sorry for the bump but I actually just caught up on the last series,
Its good news but also a bit disappointing because while it was bad alot of the time having characters like White Tiger, Iron Fist, Luke Cage and Agent Venom
around was a bit more interesting than just a Spiderman series.
Not to mention the most recent development of
latest

Mary Jane using Carnage to become Spiderwoman

And now im worried its going to be another case of a Marvel series slowly growing and finding its way and as it nears that next level they cancel it in favor of another new series again.
Avengers Assemble is seemingly on its last legs as well however the cast was the only redeeming factor of that series(and supposedly they changed that in S3) so I don't mind but EMH was great,
so was Wolverine & the X-Men and the understandably cancelled Spectacular Spiderman.

Ultimate spent most of it's life as a show for five year olds.

Let it die the death it deserves.

I didn't say it doesn't deserve it, just that it had some decent ideas.
it just makes me worried the new series will start as "basic" and by the time they do some decent stuff Marvel will throw that series out as well.

Like if they actually get to someone like Silk or SpiderGwen it would probably be a S3 or S4 type of thing and Marvel would be winding it down for something else.

Maybe Spiderman movies being stable will change that.

Fine with me, literally can't be worse than Ultimate.

I really wish they'd stop rebooting Spider-Man cartoons.

They're probably going to reboot Avengers again too.

Yeah no kidding. Its not like there's a whole new generation of kids who havent seen the old shows. They should ignore them and keep pandering to adults who watch cartoons. There's your major market!

I know nothing about the character, but it's nice to see how quick Marvel is in incorporating Spider-Gwen into other media. (Not as quick with Miles but still.) I think one of the more shitty parts about being a comics fan is how other media can take ages to catch up with legacy heroes.

Spider-Gwen was already in the Ultimate show actually http://youtu.be/HvZEKcfNCjg

Ms Marvel did appear in Avengers Assemble. Too bad Marvel never used the Young Avengers...

Spider Gwen is in the spiderman cartoon. But no powers, just tech. The Aunt May of her universe is her Q

But they ahd Squadron Supreme and The Thunderbotls

I'm down with Miles getting more cartoon appearances so I'm supportive of whatever this show turns out to be. Personally not a fan of Spider-Gwen goofin' around with Peter because the point of her AU was that she is Spider-Man instead of Peter and the versions of Spider-Man villains she interacts with and now here she might just be relegated to being girl Spider-Man.

AA is better when it doesn't follow the movies....although Falcon would be better if they did
Been meaning to ask this but in the comics is Ms Marvel an inhuman as well? I knew nothing about her besides her existence when that episode came on so I was shocked to find that out in the show

Indeed she is.

I like Miles.

I like Spider-Gwen.

But they work better as a characters when not playing second fiddle to Peter Parker. Especially Spider-Gwen.

The most compelling thing to me in the Spider-Gwen comic is seeing how different her universe is compared to 616. Plus, the guilt she carries over letting Peter die is pretty compelling and well-done, especially when she's interacting with
the still-living Uncle Ben and Aunt May.

Unless we're dealing with cross-dimensional stuff, then this version of Spider-Gwen is just gonna be...Gwen Stacy with spider powers?

The Marvel cartoons on Disney have been almost universally awful, so my expectations are low. That being said, at least there's nowhere to go but up?

Kinda bored of Ultron in everything tho. Still feel like Thanos was rushed af, although that scene where
Arsenal transforms into Ultron and knabs the infinity gauntlet with all the stones and absorbs it
may be the GOAT moment in the show

They need to give Miles and Gwen their own shows instead of having a stupid team up lie this. Marvel couldn't give less of a fuck and I am fairly certain this is ping to blow.

I'd love to eat crow, by the way. It'd be the highlight of my week to do so, cause the last good (and more importantly not garbage) Marvel animated show we had was Avengers EMH. I just have low expectations.

Avengers Assemble is no EMH but it's actuallg still pretty decent tbh

Ugh at them going with the League of Extraordinary Spider-Men angle again. Disney doing their best to make Spidey never work alone again.

That Venom design looks great, though.
