Lol Christ, we're back to the Gal Gadot isn't big enough posts.
Everyone knows that New 52 Wonder Woman is a oh so massive.
Lol Christ, we're back to the Gal Gadot isn't big enough posts.
Charlize Theron was just in a movie that many consider to be the best Action Film in about 25 years, and she is considered by most of those people to be the best action film character since Ellen fucking Ripley in ALIENS.
If we can somehow buy the fact that Charlize Theron can legitimately whip the shit out of Tom Hardy (with one goddamn arm) I don't see why it's such a problem to imagine how Zack Snyder will shoot Gal Gadot to look like she's actually putting a hurt on people.
Why not, he made the girls in Suckerpunch pretty strong and killer.
Looks like they're going for this WW.
After playing AK, I can't help but be underwhelmed by the batsuit. The armor suit in AK would have been dope in this movie
Yeah. Say what you will about the film itself, it's not as if the action sequences constructed around 105-125 pound women unleashing unholy amounts of asswhipping were lacking for visual punch.
She's got superpowers. She doesn't need to be jacked, same way Spidey doesn't.

Snyder is big now.
Superman shouldn't be jacked either. I think that artists and fans just like the visual effect, but logically a character like that would be pretty thin.

"We're going to make people forget you were ever involved with Jennifer Lopez, Gigli, and Reindeer Games."
"Hey Zack, how many Oscars do you have again?"
I get that they're going for the more feminine ww, it just doesnt sit right with me though that the one in the movie is supposed to represent the princess of the Amazons. No snu snu.
Which reminds me that the WW design in this image was being thrown around as a thing some fans liked. Not exactly something that can be pulled off in film.

It totally could be pulled off in film, it would just look weird and awkward.
And thankfully we'll have both and then some in the final versionI think it only looks awesome thanks to the lighting and physical acting though...
he's a big guy...
All you need is a human female with a muscular build.
There are plenty of women with muscular builds that are very much feminine and attractive.
I don't know why they can't be pulled off on film or would look weird and awkward.
In the image Diana is pretty much over 7 ft tall, which would be pretty hard to pull off unless some perspective mumbo jumbo is doneIt totally could be pulled off in film, it would just look weird and awkward.
Except someone with a willowy frame fighting hulking brutes has looked fucking ridiculous for a long time.
The stereotypical supermodel build on a superpowered heroine is goddamn old and played out.
It's not believable. It looks ridiculous. It needs to end.
Again, this bullshit is put to rest by Charlize Theron kicking Tom Hardy's ass in the desert in one of the best action movies of the last 25 years.
Someone with a "willowy frame" fighting hulking dudes CAN look fucking great.
The problem isn't with the visuals. It's with your inability to imagine such a thing happening until someone shows you what it looks like first. You can't imagine Gal Gadot being front and center in an action scene as a superpowered being in a comic book movie fucking people up convincingly.
It'll probably be a lot easier for you when it's actually happening onscreen, though.

Tiny, willowy, petite frames capable of immense physical strength is ridiculous. You cannot convince me otherwise.
That's Superman's mother, yo.Wonder Woman's strength comes from magic. She doesn't need to be huge.
Remember in Flashpoint when a Superman who looked like Christian Bale from the Machinist was still pretty much the most powerful being on the planet? Same sort of deal.
People bought Faora in Man of Steel, and that actress isn't exactly powerful looking in real life:

Just have Gadot's Wonder Woman take machine gun fire point blank without even flinching and people will get the point.
True, but that image is just fan art anyway. I'm not sure if there has been a "canon" height in the comics for Diana, but I assume that if there is it is Gal Gadot's height.Well, you could just make Supergirl short and cast Wonder Woman tall. No problem there. In a world where we can do Hobbits in a room together with an oversized Wizard and all the actors are the same height, I think we can make it happen. All of the super beatdowns would be mostly CG'd up anyways.
It's a fuckin' superhero movie, dude. He's got magical powers. I don't have to convince you of shit. The movie will do that. Or it won't. But your problem is with your lack of imagination, not Brandon Routh's body type.
Love the Affleck Batman, looks like The Dark Knight Returns rather well.

Whoops. You are right. I grabbed the wrong picture
Same point though:

Exactly this.
Her powers come from being a goddess/magic, not from doing sets at a gym and having whey powder. There are examples of buff WW from the comics, but typically she's not overly muscular. Linda Hamilton in T2 is human, so if she were slender she'd be weak. It's not comparable when talking about a superhero who has magical powers.
The actor they cast for Flash probably isn't the fastest man in the world, but I think it will be OK.

Hm.
Yeah no one really bought it with him.
Soooooooo.....
WTF am I reading. Routh was not a small dude in Superman Returns.
Routh's body wasn't the problem with Returns.
Shit, I don't even remember it being a problem. Returns prolems are:
-Not enough action
-Creepy stalker moment
-Superbaby (and thus, Superdeadbeat)
-Lex Luthor, Real Estate Supervillain
Boom, done. Nobody (at least, nobody that I've ever seen) was bitching that they didn't believe he could lift that island 'cause he's too skinny looking. He's Superman.
Antje Traue was wearing armor for the majority of her scenes in MoS. However I get what you're getting at regarding WW magical abilities.
If they put her in a Wonder Woman outfit it would be way more convincing than Gadot.
Whoops. You are right. I grabbed the wrong picture
