EA nor DICE have yet to announce anything, and this is not a public playtest, so don’t expect any random EA email to drop

Key Takeaways

  • The playtest is private, with NDA's sent to selected fans and content creators.
  • This new installment will revert to a traditional Battlefield format, removing Specialists and the 128-player matches seen in Battlefield 2042.
  • The development team for this game is the largest ever, incorporating several studios including DICE.

Further adding to the veracity of this report is content creator DANNYonPC (who wasn’t invited to the playtest), who posted a video on how one content creator slipped up and tweeted about it recently. That tweet has been pulled, and we won’t share the identity of the content creator who mentioned it to avoid putting them into more hot water.

I used to love BF series but after bf5 and bf 2042 I don't see myself rushing to buy a new BF.

They will have to do something amazing to peak my interest
I think Portal mode was something interesting and people loved some of it. My vote goes to keeping it simple and going classic BF. Pushing the specialists out of the way is a good start imo.

Battlefield should attempt do something completely different. I don't see why a first person PvE Helldivers inspired Battlefield wouldn't be amazing. Maybe they could add PvP elements as well. The big battlefields with unlimited respawns has run its course, imo

They've tried that the last 3 Battlefields though. They need to go back to basics imo.

Each iteration since then has felt less and less like your part of an army and the Specialists was just shite.

I don't mind them keeping portal and introducing new game modes a la fifa and voltage etc. But they really need to get that core BF experience back.

Hey why not Bad Company 3? I think that would hype their whole community?

BC2 has a good reputation, I would work with that 🤔

Battlefield 3/4 were amazing .Lets hope next BF will be as good.

People got burned with BF2042 so i dont think many will preorder, and its hard to trust "influencers" because they also hyped BF2042 like crazy and the game turned out to be shit

2042 ended up being pretty solid by the end. Really enjoyed the last three seasons.

This is great news, I hope they take their time and instead of launching a game in an terrible state and patching for a year, take that year to launch a solid game.

I will be their day one yet again(only one I have skipped was the WW1 game as I hate the technology and the old weapons.)

I didn’t mind 1 or 5, but I never went back to 2042 after my first few games - it was genuinely awful back then.

If they can recapture the 3/4 glory days, I’m back!

Battlefield 2043: Netcode Madness Sale Edition

Key features:

- Matches will increase to 128 players*
- Hit detection now works*

(* Dice reverses the right to downgrade matches back to 64 players, and there is no guarantee hit detection will work properly)

This is weird. Wonder what they gonna announce. Announcing a test phase before game announcement sure is something :D

I love the battlefield series, but DICE fucked me over so many times, especially with their awful launches. I have 0 faith sadly, but still looking forward to it. Even when the game is broken like almost every BF at launch, its still a special game that no other game can replicate for me

if they can go back to the Gunplay of BFone i will be happy.

5 and 2042 can go kick rocks
Gunplay of BF1, really? It was good but I played BF1 recently and although the atmosphere is off the charts, it doesn't hold a candle to the gunplay of 2042 (specifically BF3, BF1942 and BC2 portal modes) or BF5 gunplay. They were arguably the best bits about those games.

Give me BF3 with better graphics and destruction. That's the winning formula.
