And a vertical stand....

Hey, that works!

cool new color, I like it better then black. Anyway what does this have to do with 360 anyways, this place is starting to get more and more like the other "ages" place with the system trolling.

Uh, cool optical illusion on those pics...the gradient looks like its getting darker or lighter depending on how you scroll the images (on my CRT at least)...

Doesn't take long for unsupported rumors to spread.
Doesn't take long for fanboys to backpeddle either. Simple fact - new colours spur sales. Sony fanboys said it about DS and now it's true in reverse. I hope they didn't use all the white paint though, or we'll never get those legendary white PSPs ;P

actually, i distinctly remember many people laughing at Neo2046's suggestion that the DS would start picking up sales once the new colours and Nintendogs came out.

And i do believe i was part of that laughing.

Why do American retailers have to be so obsessed with inventory management to prevent alternate colored PS2's from ever being released in this part of the world?

Come to think of it, SCEA never released cool colored (Ceramic White, Satin Silver, Aqua) memory cards and Dualshock 2's either. Apparently SCEA is stuck in 1999 and thinks brightly colored, translucent plastics are still trendy.

This is about sales? If that is the case, how is that now true in the PS2's case, when it has been eating both of it's competitors alive in terms of sales? :p

SCEA (and US retail in general) gets cost advantage due to the huge market and single language/single SKU distribution. Break that up by introducing new SKUs, and your costs go up.

You have to pay for getting stuff so cheap sometimes.

Yeah, I know. It was more of a complaint than a question.

Still, I don't see why SCEA couldn't do some limited release "special edition" hardware. (And not as ridiculously expensive as the colored PS2's from a few years ago.)

Paying extra for import memory cards and wireless controllers that are the same as the domestic versions except in color ain't fun.

I hope this comes to Europe, I'd probably buy another PS2 if it did (I want to reserve my "old" one for linux development..worried about its lifespan).

I can't help but laughing my ass off that NA doesn't get a new colour. Europe has been getting Silver and Aqua, and now Silver PStwo, while Japan has had Gold, White, Red plus more. I mean, WTF SCEA? :lol

PS2 in the US $149. WTF SCEE?

I want that white PSTwo! PsTwo is one of my favourite console designs ever and that colour just fits it perfectly, IMO

White consoles always look best imo... it's a shame the only one we ever saw here was the original GBA. :(
Last Xmas the Pearl White SP was available as an exclusive to Circuit City.

I got one. :D

... actually, I'd be perfectly happy if they just released that white controller here. Beats that weak sea green one they put out (seriously, wtfles were they thinking?).

Never doubt Neo. Never.

SCEA had released many differently colored PS memory cards for widespread sale. I should know since I got about 5 different ones. If they could do it then, why not now? I'm friggin sick of black black black. Platinum to....ugh.

The console looks good... but just as with the (supposed) 360 controller, I find the white controller with black buttons to be ugly; why not make the rest of it white to?

So i been dabating giving in and getting a PS2 mini and when i saw the white and silver i decided it was time.

now you guys are saying niether of those are coming to the states?

guess i'll wait till after E3 to get anything to be sure.

It's speculation based on SCEA never releasing any of previous colored PS2's (except the insanely expensive ones in which the money made was given to charity). If anyone here does know, they're probably not allowed to say.

At E3? Maybe, but since Sony will probably want to keep the focus of the show on the PS3, if they are ever announced for North America, it might come later.
