new dead or alive 4 scans

Some advices for the Team Ninja:

1. Use the 512MB of memory of the console, the game seems that have the same quality textures of DOA Ultimate.

2. You can make the DOA girls like plastic dolls if this is the art that you want to have, but please, don´t transform the rest in pure plastic aspect.

3. Learn from Namco and their conversions from arcade to domestic systems.

sorry.but i dont believe this

by the way.its wellknow that vf and tekken are much better fighting games than doa.doa its the fifa o fighting games.pretty but shallow

Oh Jesus Christ on a stick... I don't care if you or anyone else thinks DOA is shallow compared to VF and Tekken. I happen to agree (as I'm a die-hard VF player). However, that's not the point, as that is personal preference. This thread was about new DOA4 scans....not some place where those that have some kind of inferiority complex of a sort can troll for free. If you don't like DOA, fine. I happen to like it in its own way.

As for whether Namco fired the first salvo at Tecmo or no, in my mind, it is clear. I distinctly remember reading a small blurb in a couple of magazines (may have been ODCM or EGM) that that occurred first and then TN fired back, resulting in the "Tekken Sucks" lines in the background of their DOA2 magazine adverts and subsequent comments by Itagaki. I'm 100% certain of this. Regardless, this has NOTHING to do with the games.

From an interview with Itagaki in (the late, lamented) XBN:

XBN: Do you consider it normal practice to slag off your competitors?

Itagaki: Okay, let me tell you the real story with that. Back when the original DOA came out, Namco aired a radio commercial insulting the series. As the father of DOA, I will never forget an insult to my family. I will get them back with nuclear missiles more than 100 times for that. I will never forget it.

Give it to me baby:

Come on, I can't be the only one who enjoys DOA and thinks that it is not an utter pile of shit like many think.

It is kind of baffling to see so much hate on a genuinely enjoyable series like DOA. Heck, we are not talking about Kabuki Warriors here, are we?

That pic. reminds me of a scene from Killer 7...anyhoo.

If the topic creator posted scans of Kabuki Warriors 2, I'm sure he'd be banned.

That's the difference from the 'hate' factor.

Lol, there's nothing wrong with enjoying DOA games, don't let the trolls get to you.

Any of the above make sense to anyone?

"That pic reminds me of a scene from Killer 7"

--the picture with Itagaki and the missles, it reminds me of a particular cutscene in Killer 7 created by Grasshopper Studios and directed by Suda 51.

"If he posted scans to Kabuki Warriors 2, I'm sure he'd be banned."

--that statement was a supplament to Funky Papa's...saying if a generally liked series like DOA gets negative post replies, posting scans to a --not so generally liked-- game such as Kabuki Warriors would get the banhammer. It's quite obvious this statement was made as an exagerrated jest.

You're inability to put that together yourself gives me the impression that your idiocy cannot even be charted.

I could be wrong though.

look nice - not leagues ahead from DOAU but nice anyway.

just watched the e3-trailer again and there are a lot of CG-cutscenes (for example the one in where that ninja-guy dodges the missiles or the one where he' standing on top of a skyscraper) which show how a nexgen-DOA could look like if they've used HDR-rendering, more complex skin-texutres etc...

To assume such esoteric and irrelevant references would mean anything to anyone other than your own twisted little mind, I think you'd do better to question your own idiocy before questioning others'.

BTW, you still haven't shown me how DOA is more dial a button than say Tekken.

cause tekken isnt a dial a combo a t hon at all.

you posted at hg you should atleast know SOMETHING about fighting games shog. And while im sure DOA isnt either, arguing about the fucking canned combo is probably a new low in the why DOA is a shitty fighter debate.

and yes shouta VF is more complex. show me combos in DOA that are more complex than some of akiras standard juggles. And im talking about just "combos" (which again is fucking stupid why are you guys comparing combos?)

Someone feeling defensive about Tekken? I just happend to use Tekken as a comparo, but it seems to have hit a sore spot with you.

And how did my comment lead you to believe otherwise?

Hey, I'm not the person who brought up dial a button BS. Go tell him!

uh, I dont give a shit about tekken I dont play it. I recognize it as a good fighter, but I'd rather play VF to be honest.

So no, you didnt hit a sore spot. Unless this thread is a sore spot.
It is.

I don't care who brought up dial a combos, if you pretend to know anything about fighters you know that its not even worth arguing. The fact that you said "BTW, you still haven't shown me how DOA is more dial a button than say Tekken." leads me to believe you dont know much about fighting games.

I have finally have a copy of Dead or alive ultimate>>>Wow what a graphics fest from Team Ninja.
I am expecting nothing less for DOA4.
I have seen some hires footage of DOA4. They are amazing, but hoping for that Team Ninja can add some more details to the game e.g:>>When the characters fall into the water >>theirs clothers should be wet!!! With the power of Xbox360 should be possible I think??
And yes self shadowing….has also to be implented.

We have a high hope for this baby. Team Ninja make us smile :D

Or maybe I'm trying to point out that the doofus haven't even played DOA extensively since DOA series is even less dial a anything than VF has become. Doesn't make DOA any better than VF, but it does point out that he has no idea what he is jibber jabbering about.

In another words, context borther, context. Makes all the difference in the world when replying to posts. ;)

I'm going to politely back out of this argument.

Have you played DOA3 lately? The most dial a button I can think of not involving juggles is on combo throws (only 3 parts long at most and can be gotten out of with a simple 3 button press for all cases).

DOA is fun, its for us who cant get into Tekken or VF.

Give me destructable environments and OOT moves over bore-a-thon Tekken anyday. And i hope this sell a shitload to shut you elitest bastards up.

Here's hoping DOA3 type success +1 purchase for me

gimme a good fighting game before, then give me graphics and all that shitload

You know, DOA is like..uh...Duran Duran.

Part of the critics only looked at them and thought they were too pretty, too focused on their image for their music to be good, but actually there was at least a little quality and definately some personality in what they did.

Same with DOA, a lot of people think it's just about boobs, cute girls in bikini or thongs and lacks Tekken's depth (TEKKEN and DEPTH in the same sentence has me laughing my ass off, by the way) but it's actually a good game, which is in no way less 'complex' or deep than Namco's beat em up.
It has its style which might or might not appeal to you, but it remains a quality, well crafted product.
I personally don't really like it's style and could never really get into the series, but I think a lot of people had better watch a few matches recorded at some japanese DOA tournament before judging its depth and complexity

Lots of blur... 30fps.

The blur is only in replay mode.

Where is Duane? He hasn't stopped by yet to say how bad DoA4 looks.

I think the game is looking really good right now. The backgrounds are amazing, and the models look a little better than before. Can't wait to see the final version.

DoA4 will have online clans, too. Perhaps we should have GAF represent? :P

Still look like dolls. Where is the details in the skin? I want veins, wrinkles, and razor stubble.

Itagaki: "Let me ask you this, would YOU want to suck and fondle breasts with veins, wrinkles and razor stubble?"

The stages look good, the clothing looks good, and the hair looks good. However, the character models look nearly identical to DOAU and very Xbox 1.5. Unfortunately, the characters are the most important aspect of any fighting game, even one as environment-based as DOA. Therefore I think DOA4 currently looks pretty bad compared to other X360 games.

As far as the whole depth argument... DOA1-3.0 lacks depth severely. At the game's peak, it's all one big guessing game, where guessing right is more important than overall skill. However, this changed with the Japanese and Euro versions of DOA3 (3.1 and 3.2) which add a lot of frame advantage, SS attacks, and other things to bring it MUCH closer to Tekken and VF.

If DOA4 expands on DOA 3.2 and makes the changes that Itagaki is claiming it will make, this could be a very solid fighter. Unfortunately no one outside of Team Ninja has played it, and no one will until 9/16 (TGS), so we just don't know what to expect yet.
