Whats with the camera during battles? That looked awful and seemed like it played bad, the camera on the ground thing.

You can't tell me the battling looked fun. It was slow and way too FFXI-like.

I obviously want it to turn out good, but seeing as how I think FFXI is complete crap and the battling in this looks slow and boring from what I've seen so far.. I'm just saying how I think it looks right now. So before people jump all over me for :gasp: not sucking Square's cock for doing something new, I hope it turns out good, and I WANT it to. I love the series.

it's really hard to tell if this kind of combat is going to be fun just by looking at it.... depends on what level of strategy is implemented and how much control you have over your various party members.

The only thing I hate about that video is how you can't see what the hell your teamates are doing very well. But someone was right when they said it looks like a single player FFXI which could be a good or a bad thing for me since I have never played it before. It's not looking like the Vagrant Story Battle system I thought it would be.

The delay between attacks is pretty long. It does look just like an FFXI battle, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but if there were more random battle animations like in KotoR it might look less boring.

Ugh no. I hated that in KOTOR, seeing the same 3 random battle animations over and over as though it makes it look more intense. Even worse it confused matters as to which animations were the actual attacks and which were the fillers. Just stick to the animations of attacks that actually have an affect on the battle.

Aye, for the first 15 minutes until you realise that you'd seen every animation they'd done about 20 times each already and it was going to be that way for the rest of the game. I don't mind repetitive animation if it's for proper hits because they serve a function. For filler non-gameplay animation it needs huge amounts of variation because it has no other purpose to support an interest in it.
