The initial splash page kinda makes it obvious.

The job listings say it's a 3rd person action game:
Things have changed! EA-Tiburon has taken on a 3rd Person Action Title . . . Superman

Best known for delivering AAA sports games such as: Madden Football, NFL STREET, NCAA Football, and NASCAR racing, Tiburon is now expanding it's suite of products to include a 3rd Person Action title. Join the action in a growing company where creativity flourishes and our teams are a collection of talented, hardworking, people with one goal...to develop great games.

Guess that means a movie has been greenlighted, hasn't it? I don't keep up with movies anymore, but EA wouldn't make a game without a license involved.

I just hope WB can bring DC movies up to par with Marvel ones (we'll just pretend Punisher didn't happen).

EA announced it had Superman ages ago.

Also, the film was greenlit ages ago. Bryan Singer is directing, they've cast a no-name as Superman who looks the part and Kate Bosworth as Lois.

I have great faith in the film.

This woud be a tragedy if there was actually ever a decent Superman game. As it is I'm glad that we'll at least see an average one for once. Who'd have thought I'd be looking forward to more mediocrity from EA!? :lol

Already announced 2003

I dont know how you can make a good game based around superman....he's too powerful when theres no kryptonite around, and too weak when theres even the slightest amount around.

Sorry about the old news - but why are they only now getting around to doing anything with the license?

Part of it was the fact that the deal didn't go into affect until the follwoing year, though I think the initial plan was to time the games with the release of the new film, but since the movie keeps getting pushed back (and really that's been happening for close to 10 years now), that's probably pushed back their time table. Back in early 2003 when they agreed to the deal, Warner Bros. was hoping for a Summer 2004 release, now it has a Summer 2006 release date.

Since filiming is finally starting next month, EA may finally be gearing up.

This movie went through a least a dozen horrible scripts and casting picks years back. EA having the rights wasn't news and we knew it was coming, but many of the details and casting didn't materialize until recently.

I remember when Kevin Smith had the script and Nick Cage and Sandra Bullock were supposed to be cast as Superman and Lois Lane. Ugh. There was some multi-villan Doomsday/Brainiac/Luthor plot to it. Glad it never came to fruition.

Kevin Spacy as Luthor sounds about right. I'm interested in the possibility of a movie again, but a game? Used bin for EA :lol

Yeah I can wat for EA Superman! Then the year after Superman 2. Then the year after Superman 3. Then the year after Superman Underground. Then the year after Superman Underground 2. All with EA Trax!
