No, but some people have gotten cd's early and put it out on the internet.
Received my shipping notification this morning for my deluxe edition. Supposed to be in by eod tomorrow.
People generally like this album that's a big surprise to me, because what I heard was cringe inducing at times a soulless smattering of modern electronic sounds littered with guests who at this point are much more interesting artists than any member of the Gorillaz themselves thus making the album sound like a various artist compilation with a loose theme.

Deluxe CD or Vinyl?
Preordered vinyl on the day the store went up but there has been no progress on my order form. Been seeing a lot of people online in the same boat (mainly those who purchased from Gorillaz Store US).
Damn, that's a bummer you feel that way man. Sounds like we're hearing two different albums. What did you think of PB?

Probably their second best album, Demon Days is still my favorite of theirs
Listening to the new Little Dragon album makes me realize I kinda wish they came back for Humanz. Their new record is way more pop conscious than many of their previous, mellow albums - would've been an interesting contribution to Humanz which so far seems really driven by a dark banger sound.
For those of you who are going to live shows(I'm seeing them in Boston), what tracks are you most excited to hear live? I bet Momentz will be really fun live. Also really excited to hear the live renditions of Saturnz Barz, Submission, Carnival, and We Got the Power(probably going to give chills because it's so warm and uplifting).

Why did Amazon say release date was today if it was going to release tomorrow as well. Here I thought digital released a day early this whole time
Considering that was also electronic focused and more collab focused as well, what seperates the two in your opinion? Just better execution of collabs and synths on PB?

So, guys, I don't know if anyone is interested in this or not, but it seems like Amazon has one copy of the Super Deluxe Vinyl thing. It's $500, though.

Give the entire album a chance once it comes out.
Demon Days is my favorite of their four albums, but Humanz is easily my second favorite.
Hindsight is 50/50 but the deluxe version being the album proper might have been a better idea. Perhaps it was the label's decision that made him do that, but if it was Damon's decision, it's going to be one that will continue to mystify me much like how PB's tracklist panned out with those teaser tracks stuffed in one of Damon's hard drives, never to be heard at least until PB's 20th anniversary or something.

I wonder if pressing it on Vinyl had something to do with it. Because none of the vinyls have them on there, for space reasons i assume.
Hyped about the bonus tracks being good though, I thought the Plastic Beach ones were completely forgettable.

Is that the "it's coming on" guy? When I watched the live performance the biggest issue is that he was completely off with the timing/tempo.

Haha, well as a fan of both Happy Mondays and Black Grape, I can agree that Shaun has never had the best singing voice even on record. He's worse than Ian Brown and that's saying a lot.

The album is all over the place to me. The tracks that are the in your face party type songs are the weakest to me. That De La Soul song I'm not even sure what they are doing. When they start moving back the other way with the DRAM song, Busted and Blue, and the moody vintage Massive Attack sounding Carnival, the album becomes a lot more palatable to my ears. Some of the pairings like Pusha T and Mavis Staples seem a little pretentious and scatterbrained (like Hansome Boy Modeling School). Like Damon Albarn is a fan of their music and decided what the hell Danny Brown and Kelela will sound good together. She's My Collar is the shit I think I fucks with the most.

Danny Brown and Kelela do sound good together though, Submission might be my favorite track on the album.
Give it a few more listens/let it sink in for a day or two.
I wasn't the biggest fan of Momentz at first but now I love it.

Momentz is totally off the wall in an awesome way. Ditches any sort of traditional structure and just lets Pos go nuts over all sorts of cool production.

I think he had a pretty clear vision tbh. Going with Danny Brown because his daughter thinks he's cool isn't a far cry from him getting Bobby Womack because of his own idol worship. He still picks people based on their lived experiences and what he thinks they can add to the narrative.
