You say odd, I say shitty. Maybe it would seem fine in a theatre, but it blows hard as a music choice for this film. Wow.

Film itself remains just as it was before; epic but lacking a hook.

I think this one must be geared to a different audience or somethin...

...like those wierd We Were Soldiers commercials with Korn or whatever...

In other news, Mel Gibson has announced yet another re-release of Passion of the Christ, with a redone score made up of Marilyn Manson tracks.

So can someone tell me what this movie is about?

pain, misery, suffering, trying to get your money back afterwards, or you could grumble for a refund in the middle of the movie when you storm out

Haha, Ridley Scott sure loves his shots of wheat.

Eh, I have a feeling this will be a gorgeous film that's completely hollow emotionally.

Well...that's an interesting choice of trailer music for this kind of film. o_O Who the hell are they trying to market it to? :p It was "fine" until it went full-prog. Fortunately I like this kind of stuff, but it's just so wrong for this film. :p

This movie will probably kick ass, but I see it as one of the biggest box office disappointments of the summer. Will probably gross comparable to Troy.

Shitty song, and when is Hollywood going to jump off the Bloom bus? The man can't lead, and may single-handedly destroy whatever chance this film may have of being decent.

Sucks cause the movie has the very awesome Jeremy Irons and Liam Neeson. Fuck man. It's like we've got 2 great actors, so there needs to be a balance. What turdomite force can balance such talent? ORLANDO BOOM. AND LET'S MAKE HIM LEAD.

I don't care whether there was a point to it or not, but watching Orlando run the vanguard of what, 20 guys against a few hundred was just plain silly.

LOL @ midway through the trailer when the cheesey rock soundtrack kicks in. Good stuff

I never cared for Gladiator. I'll wait for this one to hit a movie channel.

Lord of the Gladiator ? Gladiator of the Ring ?
I didn't see Saruman nor Theoden when the fort is being attacked and the wall blowed exactly like in The Two Towers.

Looks like a complete rip-off of LotR in the Gladiator universe.

Pretty much all the early reviews for this over at Oscarwatch have been absolutely phenomenal.. it's apparently quite an impressive film and surprisingly Orlando Bloom is actually pretty good in it (again, according to multiple reviews from moderators there and posted reviews). I'm quite excited regardless since I'm a big fan of epics and Ridley.

Oh yeah, the special effects are supposedly to be the best ever seen in an epic with the large-scale battles trumping LotR by quite a margin (done with CG as well). Apparently the march on Jerusalem is awe-inspiring.

Even though it didn't fit in with the theme of the movie nor trailer at all, I'm glad Scott got his trailer to get some cheesy rock in it. Gladiator's early trailer was a bunch of cut fight footage together with Kid Rock's "Bawitaba" playing over it, so if this movie is as good as Gladiator, I will be happy.

Nice.

Nice.

Gladiator, for me, was no 'Best Picture'. But it was still a great film. The trailer for KoH looks amazing (SOUNDS amazing, too *rocks out*), so it's nice to hear some reviews that reflect that.

The battles I've seen so far in KoH look underwhelming, and I think that's awesome. They're like the battles in LotR without the outlandish over the top areas (giant elephants, huge orcs, etc, just the core soldiers) or the battles in Troy without the centrific fighting (ie TWO NAMES GOING AT IT GUYS, EVERYONE STOP FIGHTING AND WATCH). The fact that the trailer is forced to show off scenes of acting, substance, and quiet cinematography gives me great hope that the subject matter when it comes to religion and character is going to be heavily focused upon as opposed to something like Troy which fed itself on story and lore (partially thanks to many of the characters already being established).

If Scott delivers a Gladiator-esque movie in camerawork and action, with an extra filling of non-character focused substance or commentary, I will be quiet pleased. Initially I was upset that the battle scenes looked "done before", but now after viewing other scenes from the trailers (those rye fields or whatever they are... god damn beautiful), it actually gives me hope.
