I'm picking this up, but real next-gen football starts when the real time physics are implemented. I can't fucking wait.
Is this an all new game engine or an advanced version of what weve seen for Madden in the current-gen?
Jeremy Strauser: This is an all-new game engine; new rendering engine, new animation system, new player models, new stadium models, etc. We were able to share some key data like plays and player ratings with current gen, but just about everything else is brand new.
What about the on-field physics? Have you been able to implement advanced collision detection and other goodies to recreate a more reaistic game?
Jeremy Strauser: Ultimately we ended up re-writing our animation engine and physics engine from scratch. This is a great first step, it is very good and looks great but we can take this even further in the future with real time physics engines. Real time physics is a huge undertaking on the grand scale needed for a football game, so we didnt have time to get this type of system in this years game. While we are very happy with the animation and physics systems we have, were looking forward to even bigger and better things here in this generation of game engine.
