the mods allow bootlegs, and i've posted studio recordings from dredg multiple times here without ANY action by the mods.
It's not on any cd, it's not a leak...it's one song. Big deal.

OOOO the mods...geez I think they locked it cause like Arnold said it was a pm fest and the mp3 wasnt posted.This mp3 is free for anyone to have and unless their is some mod here thats hates Mars Volta,I dont see why it should be locked.

I was typing the reply and pulling up the other thread when you posted that it got shot down for turning into a PM fest. Obviously if this is an officialy released track I don't think the mods would do anything about. Exscuse my ignorance.
I didn't lock the other thread, but I also suspect it was locked because a) it was a "PM me!" festival and b) it might have been assumed that it was a bootleg track.
It's a track on a publicly-accessible website. The only semi-shady thing is that you're deep-linking to the source, rather than accessing the front page...but I personally don't have a problem with that.

Having never heard any other works by Mars Volta, I am interested having heard something now, but in general this track is pretty average. Of course, I wasn't paying close attention to the lyrics, but more just feeling on the groove. Good, but nothing that would make me run out and by the CD.
SO before I go tracking more info down on these guys, does this sound alot like the rest of their material?

...for future clearification, it is against the TOS to post a bootleg? even if it's a fan bootleg, and nothing ever released for profit? I mean, one that I would record at a concert and post here, and the band and record label has no association with?

The song is okay, it's a little too dramatic and not as interesting musically, it feels a little basic, but nothing bad. Hopefully this is just a quieter song on the album and not a true representation. Plus I'm betting more will be added and changed.
