Looks the same but with added blur to hide the ugly. I'll stick to Ridge Racers thanks.

The cars and the road looks better than RR. The gameplay also crushes RR and you have better car customization. Unless you buy games for graphics.

Oh shit, this has VW Golfs in it? They're so siiiiiiiiiiick!

Edit: Oh shit! Do you see the pipe on the back of that one car!? That's so siiiiiiiiiiick!

actually, the vids of this game recently (especially the first person view) make this game look pretty damned good.

I'll definitely give it a whirl.

Oh come on, NFS has a long long way to go before it can even touch the throne the RR series made for arcade racers.

and you have better car customization.

Oh, wow. NOW I so wanna get it.... RR has virtually never been about that stuff, just select a car and a track and go push the pedal to the metal....

The new CES videos of the game look quite decent. Still framerate problems and massive pop-up, but I think that wont be very present in the final game.

It never had the throne. :D NFSU is alot more fun anyway. In RR they might as well have the hwole game in time trial :p

Well, I had a lot more fun with the RR series than with the broken games (gameplay and graphics were craptastic imo) they now call Need for Speed Underground. To my humble opinion, EA (don't worry, this is not a crusade against them) once again took a good and settled name (I loved all the old NFS games) and twisted and mangled it till they created another mediocre product for the masses.

Sure, Namco didn't always provide the best itteration in the series, but as far as I can tell, RR looks a lot better than this. I know where my money's goin ;).

Where is this crack that you must certainly be smoking, my good man? I must have some of this pure and good substance.

The pics look like blurry ass. But as DCharlie pointed out, the vids are another story. The two vids that worked for me at IGN actually look pretty decent. Seems the analog stick can actually be used in this one, compared to RR. But I never played this series and I'll really just wait for GT4. PEACE.

Maybe best game on the PSP if it's the only PSP game out there. :P These shots look pretty uninspired. The cars have about as much detail as Ridge Racers, but the tracks look ASS. More blurring, tons more darkness, less detail overall. Downtown Rave City and Midnight Highway on Ridge Racers (the two night city tracks) completely shit all over these pics and then some.

Fuck EA. I will kill every person that buys this over Ridge Racers. Fucking casual burberry cap Chav scum.

I'd love to have a little portable garage of customised cars to race other PSP owners with, this game has fantastic potential.

I'll have to see a final version/video to judge the visuals, but this game has potential to be fun, if it takes after NSFU2. NSFU2 is awesome

You made the post I wanted to make :( NFSU2 is awesome, but I get the feeling this won't live up to it. Probably more in the vein of NFSU on PS2, which was crap.

Yeah, I have a feeling it won't live up to it because they took up the whole "free roaming" aspect to the game. A lot of the appeal was invested in that so it's disappointing to say the least.

Still, I guess I still have high hopes. If this game can't satisfy my arcadey customization handheld racing needs then I'll have to look elsewhere :(

Burnout is coming to PSP, though. That I cannot wait for. Speaking of racing games, it appears PSP is going to be one incredible platform for racing titles. There are already so many of them.

The free roam is cool just for the fact you are able to test changes to the performance before you race otherwise I would prolly rather just jump from one event another from the menu.
