New PDZero screen???

Maybe this has been mentioned already, but didn't Microsoft say they were going to use the Unreal 3 engine for all of their first party games on Xbox 360? I would figure it would work to their advantage if they didn't have RARE focusing on making a graphics engine, but have them use what Epic has created, and just work on the XBL and campaign gameplay.

Looks a lot better. Too bad Joanna seems to be more of a slut now, just like every other female videogame character...

it's still not the greatest looking game, though. Given some more time and adding a better lighting model and some bump/detail maps and the game could look killer.

The last shot with Johanna looks like a horrible fan-made render, but the rest are wow..

not to say it's a *bd* looking render, it she just looks weird in it.

Ok, now this looks a little better. Still no next-gen feel IMO though. And that Joanna(?) model is friggin awful.

I agree with this sentiment.

We have one pic that looks like it is in an indoor underwater lab. Another with a ton of open sky.

Give me a pic with a ton of scenery in the background!

so joanna is a whore now? why do all these girls look like the're going to hump your leg right before they shoot you...

The body shot of joanna is awful? What the hell is wrong with you?

Anyway... if those are the real screens, then I must say, we had quite a bit of fun with wallguy...

The hand in this shot is kinda blocky tho, like last gen stuff... but...

This hand is less blocky... and has... a red finger nail? In line with the body shot.

Are these real? :o

Why on Earth show those other Halo-meets-CounterStrike ones, then?
These barely look better than the other ones though :|

Not next-gen anyway, GR3 and GoW >>>> PD0.

Oh and ecliptic, it's been brought to my attention lately that you can grab video frames in media player with CTRL + i, wich is much less trouble than prntscr-ing a maximized player...

How exactly do you do this, after you ctrl + i, what do you do next?

They pretty much killed themself by releasing that render of half of Joanna's face. Not only is the one in the game not of the same quality, its not even the same artstyle.

btw, those 2 shots are squeezed making them look not quite as good. Add on top of that the fact that those are running on early hardware and Rare's rep for releasing the some of the best graphics in their games and you've got a good chance that PD0 will indeed OWN.

I still say that was photo of a real person. Shopped photo not render.

I'm really disappointed by the lack of AA & Aniso in these images.. I thought we'd finally do away with that crap nextgen. :(

What we saw on MTV consist of only multiplayer video, now if there goal is to have up to 50 players in one deathmatch, its understandable the characters would appear to be lacking in the polygon and detail.

The meat of the technology wouldn't be noticeable until you get to see the single player action.

So I think all the screens look great(atleast the new ones). Also that Joanna model if had to guest, I would say its realtime.

No kidding. Isn't this like the 4th version of Joanna we've seen in the past week. We got so many different renders with so many different art styles. It's fucking confusing is what it is.

No doubt it looks much better than the previous shots...but it's still not giving me next gen chills. But now I'm actually looking forward to seeing the single player game in action. I can't wait for the E3 trailer.

No, you'll see.

PGR3 alone is going to have thousands of 3d bystanders in the game.
Kameo has thousands of monsters in a field.
99Nights has .... tens of thousands of warriors on screen

So basically it's just a matter of getting all the detail on all the characters up to a much better level.

I think I know what's going on. Microsoft have so little faith in Rare that they've also put other studios to work on different versions of Perfect Dark 0. It's like how Sega of Japan and Sega of America designed different systems. Yeah, that explains the totally different screens being shown. I mean wtf is going on.

I'm not sure its an actual photo, it reminded me of Lady from DMC3. Still whether its a photo or a render, why release it when its not even in line with the games actual artstyle for the character? The ingame Joanna still has the cartoonish look to her.

I am under the impression there was a secred "fake PD0 screen contest" and Rare/MS will give us dozens of different fake shots through the next half year

Yeah, but online gaming would require a little more out of the system wouldn't it.

And why not?

I think it's quite common practice. Posters, DVD covers, game box art etc. - they don't have to show real scenes from games/ movies.

"99Nights has .... tens of thousands of warriors on screen"

Eh dude, they're not even pushing 2000 warriors yet, that's their final goes. Tens of thousands?

It's common to release renders, yes, its not common to release renders that don't use the games actual artstyle. That'd be like Polyphony releasing renders of GT that make the cars look like they're from ChoroQ. It'd make no sense.

eh whatever.... i haven't been reading the fine print. :P theres a lot ;P

4:3, no AA, is that the Xbox version or something ?

At this point i think Microsoft picked the PD0 six years old screenshot directory from Rare ftp and is sending random pics on the net.

Now this looks more like it. And she looks agreeably like a hot detailed drawn/animated character, yet not just some simple anime figure nor OTOH some ultra-realistic rip of a real person. Looking NICE.

But still, of course as said before, there are just SO many different Joanna variants out there right now still don't know exactly what the real deal is...
