Heard about most of these before, just no official confirmation.

BUT...

PoPoLo Crois

It's COMING

to the fucking US

with EA's help?

PoPoLo Crois

Hmm, what's this?

Where's Madden 2006? IMO, that's the PSP's killer app -- Madden with wireless internet play will clean fuckin' house.

With innovative PS2 -> PSP connectivity

It's an RPG that never really came to the US in any competent form before, and it's supposed to be really awesome.

I heard the PSP game has some serious ghosting issues, though.

SSX 4 was in the new GI also. Listed as PS2, PSP, XBox, and GC. No mention of XBox2/360.

Awesome. A new SSX game on PSP would be great. Now all we need is a PSP Burnout game to be officially announced. :)

Big E3 announcement, complete with fireworks, strippers and free booze.

So.. What's PoPolo Crois? Why are so many people hyped for it?

I don't really care about the EA sports games (have had to review waaaay too many of 'em lately, and they're all so alike), but I'd commit a couple of murders here and there for a port of PES 4/Winning Eleven 8 for PSP.

Make it HAPPEN, Konami !

Winning Eleven is coming out for PSP and DS. Can't wait.

Oh, PoPoloCrois is from Sony, and it doesn't look like EA is publishing it here so that was just jumping to conclusion. But it seems that Sony is publishing it here if this info is to be believed, so that's cool. Basically it's a semi-light hearted RPG, but since it has never come to the US to my knowledge I can't really comment on its quality except that the Japanese GAFers played it and thought it was neat but that the ghosting was bad.

Madden is the only game that will make me get a PSP anytime soon. That is if it has online play.

Hmm... None of their launch titles are online, but it would be a shame to see Madden on the PSP with no online support.

It definetly is cool that Sony is bring popolo to the US, but it sure as hell doesn't make up for Makai Wars going into limbo. :(

Would it be a bit rash to basically rephrase it as : "PoPolo Crois is the first JRPG for PSP, which can account for the (moderate) hype" ? :)
I've seen some screenshots and although it looks kinda fun, in a 16-bit sort of way. Does it feature a strategical type of combat (I've seen pics with squared grids for battles), and can anyone tell me what games you could compare it to ? Might end up on my "wanted" list after all.. :)

Oh, and great news about Winning Eleven... it's a no-brainer purchase for me :)

Fuck no. They would have to raise the very mountains beneath the sea and release a compilation UMD that contained every SNES RPG with enhancements (<<hyperbole) to make up for that.

Popolocrois.... my god.... finally...!!

I've been curious about this series too. Is there interest in this title because they're good games, or because of "animu!! ^_^" like Arc the Lad ended up being?

I'd be happy if nintendo would stop pussy-footing around and just port Super Metroid to the PSP already.
I will agree with this.

Oh, and Popolo Crois get. It will be really strange if it happens to come over with an EA logo on the front, but the more 2d RPG goodness on the PSP the better.

Nah, check the topic - it says "mostly EA". I'm almost positive he was referring to PoPoLoCrois when he wrote that. It would make no sense that EA would be publishing it.

I'm sure Madden will sell very well on PSP, but I have no interest at all. No hit stick, only two shoulder buttons. I'll play the real version on PS2.

Popolocrois...wow...UNpossible!! I hope they'll fix some of the "technical" errors with the game for this US release.

Here's a better idea...release it on the DS and piss you off even more ;)

The real version will be on Xbox 360. :D

It's funny that 5 EA games & 1 non-EA game are announced and all that anyone can talk about is the non-EA game. :lol

JAPANESE GAMES HAVE BETTER ART

That ugly crap is more exciting than the fall EA PSP lineup. :lol

I know it's a series that has been kept to Japan for ages, etc, etc... But c'mon!

Ugly to you.

The art of Popolocrois has always been the main draw to me. Even though the PS2 sequels are mind boggingly boring, I still have high hopes for this one.

Hope they'll use the same boxart, it's so beautiful!

They better fix the loading and ghosting on it before release though! Then again, actually I doubt any of it matters. If SCEA is handling the localization themselves, the dub will be enough to turn everyone off buying it. :lol

I remember being wowed by the cel-shaded game in the series that was announced around the time of the PS2 launch, but I find the PSP game to be pretty bad looking.

Well, what is there to talk about regarding the EA games? Licensed game, basketball, NFS, licensed game, licensed game. Popolocrois is more interesting by default. :D

I tried the first Poplocrois on PS1 years ago, and those characters *still* creep me out...but yeah, the backgrounds look nice, and that's a nice cover.

Hrrm, I'll probably buy only these:

GTA - Rockstar
Hot Shots Golf - Sony

They really need to announce more PSP games... I guess that's what E3 is for.

So it's not Sony then? Nice to see Bandai picking up the PSP version of SAC too.
Have a DS list?

Hate to bring the thread back up, but I do have a DS list although nothing too interesting on it.

Bomberman - Ubisoft
Goldeneye Rogue Agent - EA
James Bond Part 4 - EA

Roar! Madden 2006 PSP is indeed my killer app. Playing on the way to work will be a fucking awesome way to pass time.

I fear for my PSP when I lose though, right DM!?
