I heard the PSP game has some serious ghosting issues, though.

Oh, PoPoloCrois is from Sony, and it doesn't look like EA is publishing it here so that was just jumping to conclusion. But it seems that Sony is publishing it here if this info is to be believed, so that's cool. Basically it's a semi-light hearted RPG, but since it has never come to the US to my knowledge I can't really comment on its quality except that the Japanese GAFers played it and thought it was neat but that the ghosting was bad.

Would it be a bit rash to basically rephrase it as : "PoPolo Crois is the first JRPG for PSP, which can account for the (moderate) hype" ?
I've seen some screenshots and although it looks kinda fun, in a 16-bit sort of way. Does it feature a strategical type of combat (I've seen pics with squared grids for battles), and can anyone tell me what games you could compare it to ? Might end up on my "wanted" list after all..

Oh, and great news about Winning Eleven... it's a no-brainer purchase for me

Fuck no. They would have to raise the very mountains beneath the sea and release a compilation UMD that contained every SNES RPG with enhancements (<<hyperbole) to make up for that.

Nah, check the topic - it says "mostly EA". I'm almost positive he was referring to PoPoLoCrois when he wrote that. It would make no sense that EA would be publishing it.

The art of Popolocrois has always been the main draw to me. Even though the PS2 sequels are mind boggingly boring, I still have high hopes for this one.

Hope they'll use the same boxart, it's so beautiful!

Well, what is there to talk about regarding the EA games? Licensed game, basketball, NFS, licensed game, licensed game. Popolocrois is more interesting by default.

I tried the first Poplocrois on PS1 years ago, and those characters *still* creep me out...but yeah, the backgrounds look nice, and that's a nice cover.
