Haha, notice Ada's body is more angled towards us, compared to 'Assignment:Ada' ? Very nice touch, Capcom.

Second, I want to see the rocket in action. The GC version had some destructible stuff going on in the castle area; I want to see that too.
Endymion said:To balance things out PS2 is crisper, lacks the 16-bit dithering that in part compromised image quality on GC.
The review build has no progressive scan option. I think that with it and real widescreen, the final build will look great during gameplay, but I'm worried that compared to a progressive scan gameplay, the FMV cutscenes will look even blurrier if they are encoded as an interlaced footage (which is likely)Speevy said:Looks great. Still shimmers a little bit, and the faces aren't quite as clear up close, but still great.

No muzzle flashes in this versionOG_Original Gamer said:The lighting took a big hit, still have yet to see muzzle flash appear on Leon or Ada, it should appear on the enemy aswell.

Also lacks the sheen effect on the helmet.

1.this game was made half the time as the gamecube version
2.i really doubt they are pushing ps2 very hard, imo re4:gc wasn't all that impressive
3.there are ps2 games that look better than re4s2, proving earlier statement 2.
4.what is everyone's deal with 16 bit dithering?
and last but on lest, re4 is a compilation of the following games: tomb raider, jak and daxter, god of war, silent hill2, half life2, house of the dead, and ofcourse mgs3. and you people call it the greatest game? the puzzles are very old, the same traps as found in tomb raider and jak1. boat level is very similar to the level in half life2. shooting enemies is ripped from house of the dead and mgs3. the monster idea is stolen from silent hill. quick button input could have been from god of war. and the communication radio, eating food, active cinemas, killing animals, finishing moves and shooting body parts are blatantly ripped from mgs3. and the only thing good about the game's graphics are the water parts

i really dont care. thats what i know. and if no one can see that it is a compilation with a resident evil twist then there's no hope for humanity.OG_Original Gamer said:To bad, your in the minority.

Encouraging people not to play a game because they didn't like it despite on top of not caring I might add that PS2 owners finally get a chance to play a highly praise game for themselves and *OMG* might like it?!
Well the game was very hyped. and hype makes things seem better than they are. plus it's one of the few games on gc the was mature.HomerSimpson-Man said:Your constantly trying to downplay RE4 for quite a while now and it's on deaf ears. RE4 wasn't all that impressive? Not pushing PS2 hard? "Stolen" gameplay mechanics? The game is acclaimed for a reason, because it's an amazing well made game.
i said that i didnt care about me being a minority.OG_Original Gamer said:So why particpate in the topic, IF YOU DON"T CARE.![]()
That would be beyond stupid. Despite all the small visual downgrades, what I've little seen of PS2 version is just as awesome game as it can be. The main dowgrade in my opinion is FMV cutscenes, the actual gameplay looks very close, in some ways a bit worse, and if you play on wide screen, in some ways better than the GC version.Musashi Wins! said:let's not start with the crazy damage control about how lame the game is now that we see what a step down it is graphically.
