New Realtime PGR3 Trailer

Yeah the cars do look out of place but the city made my jaw drop, the track environment has always been more important anyways, imo.

Looks Stunning all round to me. Can we a frame rate argument now, and get it over and done with?

What the... maybe I need to see the higher res version but what I saw looked absurdly life-like. Kind of freaks me out. When does the "It's actually pre-rendered monster" jump out and bring me back down to Earth? :P

Wow, the environements look amazing. The in-car view is fucking incredible, too. I don't know if the video is really an accurate representation, but it looks like 60 fps as well.

I do see the "flying cars" thing a little bit, but eh.

I still dont get how people think that a 30fps video can look 60fps. As good as it looks in that small video I wouldnt want to play it at that jerky framerate.

Would be great... 60fps, crowd reacting to the race, 12 cars and all that via Xbox Live... I think I have my most wanted 360 game....

Gek, just for this one time, forget that this is a Xbox game, forget all the negatives and join our circle-jerk! I will promise to join you with some Sony racer. :D

yeah on some angles they look like they're floating, mainly when you see them from the front... but other than that, wow

That's a VERY good point... now that's got me wrondering, if the first screen shots were pre-rendered backgrounds with realtime models maybe this could also be the samething? if not it does look pretty good but the cars need some MAJOR work.

The video looks damn impressive to me. But did they slap some sort of filter on the video? Why is it so dark? The live crowds and dash interior where you can see the cars racing ahead of you look damn good:) Ofcourse I assume this is all real time,I hope so.

:D are you on crack again, my friend? That vid was absolutely fluid as hell. did you watch the QT or the WMV version? If anything, that's the encoding mocking you.

Both, quicktime one is better. Its still not 60fps fluid but I am very impressed with the lighting for the city and crowds.

I want a direct feed version of this.. It just looks amazing. Don't forget this is a poor encode. Look at the reflections on the TVR! And people saying still it doesn't look next-gen :lol and the city.. Damn

I'm curious, all of you who seem to think its 60... how can you tell when the video your watching is 30?

Major work?

Looks at tag.

Ok.

Fluidity of the animation. It's the most obvious thing for me. 30 fps and lower has a certain jerkiness to me compared to 60, and that trailer was smooth.

I hope your right, but it would seem impossible to be able to tell based on a video. You would obivously be able to detect drops below 30.. but 30-60 should be impossible, perhaps i'm wrong.

Your wrong :D

Even by that video you can see it`s 60fps just by how smooth the camera pans are and how smooth scenery runs by. 30fps = smooth, 60fps = silky smooth and that was silky smooth my friend.

As long as there are only cars and buildings in view. I not sure it was even holding 30 when the spectators where in view.

Looks good. Looks next-gen. The people that says otherwise are the cowards that will be the firsts saying "wow" when they'll see the game before them.

You both are full of shit. Go check out the videos of Forza and PGR2 next to this one and tell me these videos look less 'smooth'. There is no way to tell if a game is running faster than 30fps if the video is only 30fps.

...In fact the only thing that you can tell is that PGR3's reflections are at least 30fps versus Forza's 15fps reflections which is....better.

80,000 polys a car and they still aren't realistic.
Maybe it's my fuzzy memory, but I'm more impressed with the GT4 replays. They seemed more realistic than this.

And the cars do look like they are hovering. And the rims look 'off' to say the least.
I need to some some actual gameplay footage before I drop my final judgement, but this isn't looking the best.

Crowd is nice, though.
