New Reggie interview - IGN (talks revolution)

GDJustin said:
Whenever Reggie talks he manges to get me excited about Nintendo again.

And in the blink of an eye,
Reggie did run.
With words like that said,
His job was done.

And yes, exciting news. Too bad GAF will be down by time i get home.

I hope Nintendo has done enough waffling on Mario 128 to realize that it should be a Revolution launch title.

I can't wait for Iwata's keynote, it's going to be good!
I think Reggie pretty much confirmed that it will be.

Man, tomorrow's kinda like geek heaven for me. This stuff from Nintendo including the rumored Zelda trailer, plus the Star Wars EP:3 trailer...
God seriously, I don't think I'm going to be able to get over tomorrow at all. Crazy, crazy day.

Nintendogs the official title now? Awesome!

yeah apparently the new Star Wars trailer is going to be during tomorrows episode of "The OC". whenever its on/whatever channel that is, i dont know. but i imagine a shitload more people than normal will be watching.

The US version may omit a couple of puppy breeds that are popular in Japan but not in the States, but even with the exclusions the stateside edition will contain a larger line-up of dogs when it's completed later this year.

PLUS NPD!! WOOOOO!!!!!

Wait, what?! Is there some sort of GAF protocol when it comes to days like tommorow? Who's providing the oxygen masks? Can my seat double as a lifesaver? Where are the exits?

This is almost too much.....Is this the same Nintendo from 2002 with GBA-GC connectivity? It sure as hell doesnt seem like it...... Maybe we're just all in the Matrix, and when we wake up this dream will be gone.....or maybe not :D

woohoo, go Ninty!

I'm expecting Mario 128 on revolution, probably at launch. I'm excited about Nintendo again, can't wait till Iwata's keynote tomorrow!

I thought this would happen and it may be good idea, infact they maybe might even get out release down to two copies instead of three. The third version in Japan is full of breeds that don't really seem popular here at all, outside of the Poodle. So I kind of anticipated this.

However that would put the Corgi in a bad spot. Whatever they do, don't let the Corgi go. :(

I don't think they will drop down to 2 copies

Oh interesting, I hadn't read the impresisons yet, sounds great. Perhaps we'll see a Golden Retriever this time around as well. Awesome, thanks.

the dogs hijacked Reggie :)

The puppies in Nintendogs will never grow up but they can be retired in favor of other dogs to train. As many as three dogs can be active in a player's cartridge, but players will have to note that dogs will behave specifically with others - some puppies may not get along with others, for example.

^ I think thats cool

I think it's pretty obvious that Mario 128 is for Gamecube, and I'll tell you why. If Nintendo shows in-game footage of a title that looks like a beautiful Gamecube game, they'll be laughed off the stage. (unless of course it's CG)

I honestly believe Nintendogs is Nintendo's next big thing.

That shit is gonna sell like hot cakes. Hell, even I'm starting to warm up to the title. The game is just...Dare I say it...too cute. (No homo)

Eh? I think it's fairly obvious it's a Revolution title, and that they'll use it to showcase Rev at E3. Anything less would be a huge dissapointment. I doubt they'll half ass this one.

So what? Even though Shigeru Miyamoto himself was disappointed with Super Mario Sunshine and it didn't utilize the Cube hardware, we're going to screw you guys and get it right with the next generation?

I hope in addition to the name, they retain the Japanese box art for Nintendogs. It's the sort of art that could actually make this appeal to non-gamers.

The inside scoop is that the breeds wouldn't give Nintendo the licenses because Nintendo wanted full damage modeling on the Pug and the Shiba Ainu.

I think Nintendo has more than one title that will show the online(no-line) capabilities, MP:H, Advance Wars DS and maybe some others.

Four Swords, Animal Crossing, Mario Kart, FFCC are all good candidates.

Damn your avatar's distracting.

seriously though since DS games do not have lock outs I wounder if the U.S. version Puppies and the Japanese version Puppies can still communicate?

Ok, so I take it Anihawk is getting me mixed up with you.

Also, didn't realize Norinrad had something to do with Silver Surfer. Anihawk had me thinking it was some new hip slang word that's often used at this forum.

Apparently, and I don't really see anything wrong with that. If they can only show video footage at this point and not a playable demo, there's no reason to put it on GC. Video footage at E3 = no release before xmas '05 = release in '06 = may as well make it for Revolution. The GC is done once Zelda ships.

Damn, I'm still hoping that Mario 128 is a GC title, seeing as how its been in development for so many years. Good interview. That and the confirmed list of DS releases this year has put back in some faith that I have about Nintendo.

This Mario 128 business reminds me of the rumored sequel to Mario 64. Miyamoto talked about it in interviews and everyone hoped for it on the N64 but it never saw release.

I have to agree. Once Zelda is released, Gamecube ends up like Xbox is now. Releases that interest you and that you'll buy, but nothing truly mind blowing. I'd say Sony is already there too.

Mario 128, should use Mario to showcase the new technology of Revolution - as Miyamoto has stated that Mario is Nintendo's new ambassodor to showcase new technologies. Let him do it.
