Well, given the 222-111 MHz current limitation, PSP having new quirks that were not there on PlayStation 2, etc... I did not expect to see such a nice GTA game so soon on PSP. I guess making a new engine from scratch has its benefits :D.

That face looks so goddamned unnatural.

Apparently this time you play as an Italian!

EDIT: Before I get banned, may it be known that I am an Italian.

I still don't understand why you would like to play games like this one on a handheld ...

Why not? GTA games have become known as some of the best pick up and play games around. Isn't that what people say handheld games should be?

Why not ?

Well, because I play a handheld on the go. Maybe 10, 15 minutes sometimes half an hour. Then I switch it off.

GTA (and quite a few other games that are on the PSP) aren't really games for that imo. Games like that I like to play at home, relaxed on a big screen (not that my tv is big by any means) for a couple of hours in one go ...

Why is it that the cars are the only thing in the game world that displays a shadow, while the rest of the world is completely devoid of any lighting what-so-ever. I would think that taking away all shadows would be better, as at least then they don't stand out and look out of place.

How well has the PSP battery been holding up for people? I'm not trying to troll. Just wanted to know if this will really make me take the plunge. I'm kinda disappointed in the DS with it's battery life. The SP spoiled me.

As long as the PSP GTA isn't locked-in to the story mode and you can still go around and randomly jack cars and blow shit up, I don't see why it would be a problem to play it for 10 or 15 minutes on the go. Plus - ad-hoc multiplayer!

This is suppose to be able ot last 4 hours on the PSP battery.

Sleep mode makes all games "pick up and play." Seriously, the PSP sleep mode is the best thing since sliced bread. I don't remember the last time I actually turned mine comopletely off.

Oh, and new battery hitting the market soon adds 20% more battery life in the same size as the orginal.

sleep mode is the best thing to happen to the new portables. i actually feel that my GBA is unplayable since sleep mode isn't programmed inside the hardware

technically the DS' sleep mode is the best thing. Just close the lid. The PSP you have to fumble with that supremely annoying switch ;)

but yes, sleep mode is a welcome addition on all current gen handhelds.

I hope there is people on streets so you can run them over or kill them. The screenshots look empty.

That's cause they're just to shoucase the different clothes and weapons. GTA screenshots that are straight from Rockstar are always empty, people worried about the same thing in Vice and San Andreas and in the end the game had enough pedestrians roaming the streets.

Most GBA games since 2002 have a sleep mode.

Guess I'm just more nimble with my fingers! ;) I never have to fumble with the switch, but it is hard to beat just closing the lid. :)

I´m still trying to understand why people would like to play games like this one on any system...

I guess people just have their own tastes and preferences in games and this may not be for everyone.

I respect that you don't like these types of games, but have you seen the sales numbers on these? You're in the minority.

Let me guess: You'd rather scratch a virtual dog on the nuts :lol

Please back out of this thread...

Sleep mode says hi. Every game is like that on the PSP.

I do apologize and will refrain from any posts that possibly could bring dismay to you kind sir.

not.

And yeah, I'd rather play Lumines or Polarium or Nintendogs (although I have yet to pick it up) on a handheld.

On another note, I too do not really like GTA.

Well us virtual dog-bollock-scratchers still like GTA, you know :lol

This looks great... if this measures up to the other GTA incarnations, I may crack and get a PSP. There aren't enough games I want on the system to justify 180 quid right now, but GTA has so much playtime involved that it'd be worth the purchase... so c'mon Rockstar, don't let us down like with every other portable GTA!

I'm a big fan of Vice City, but it's absolutely mind-boggling how little interest I have in this game. YAWN. Can GTA keep selling? I can't be the only one who's had his fill.

I think this game is too violent for handheld systems. If this gets into the wrong hands, well.....

I just don't even want to think about it.

People ask this after each GTA and the answer is yes. I think San Andreas revived alot of interest in the series who might've been disappointed in Vice City.

Sarcasm?

Which would explain why you can't see playing this on a handheld.

Why are you in this thread again?

If you read my original post you will see that I said "games like this". But anyway, I'll let that be the end of this... I didn't want to upset GTA fans.

Yup I understand cause it makes a lot of sense to be in a thread of a game you have no interest in....
