Sorry, this isnt alot of info, however my professor (Texas History from post civil war to WWI) held a review session earlier today and was talking to us about a book we are required to read in class called Isaac's storm. Its a non-fictional work about the hurricane that destroyed Galveston.. it does tell a story and is mostly about overconfidence in technology to overcome nature. Its actually an excellent book..
In any case, my proff said that Sean Astin had asked him if he would be intrested in looking at a screenplay of the book and helping him with historical acuracy of the set designs and charachters.
Not sure if this is new information or not, but it sounds like Astin might be taking on a directing/production role with this movie? I wonder if he is making this himself with all his hobbit money?
