New SFV Datamined Information...Arcade Mode maybe found?

Oh xkira is back. Has anyone verified any of the stuff he's supposedly datamined? Not that any of this is particularly shocking, as Capcom has already hinted they were working on arcade mode and an arcade version for Japan. And more stages and costumes are a no-brainer.

Extra battle is an interesting idea that lots of people were asking for after the story update but it's kind of easy to fake since the story mode only characters were immediately made playable by swapping character files.

This slide is raising red flags for me since v-mode is replacing the comment option of the character select screen which would be another easy thing for a modder to change. He says v-mode can change all of these different abilities but rather than show any of that all we get is a screen of a new menu option for it which just happens to be replacing an existing menu option.

The evidence of arcade mode is a screen shot of a bunch of folders and some empty teasing about the final boss and Abigail being involved in the bonus stage.

I dunno it just seems like the more I look at the stuff in here with a critical eye the more suspicious it looks. I'd love for all of these things to be true but I'm a bit skeptical given xkira's history.

The slides do look convincing in my summer child opinion, though I'll add that I'm not familiar with xkira's datamining history in any way. I would love for this stuff to be true at the very least.

I'd be down fot more single player modes that will allow me to earn FM for one. I'm also curious who the canonical boss of SFV would be, which for me is kind of important from a series (*GASP*) lore perspective. Will it be Bison like in the cinematic story mode, the currently still quite downplayed Necalli in V-trigger mode or someone new entirely?

If they add Sagat and his Thailand stage, they would have all the ingredients to cook up a SFII mode where you fight the four kings, which could be cool. But perhaps they are saving this for a later season.

Oh and the slides do mention a possible car smashing bonus game and that would make me really happy, especially if it ties into Abigail's stage / car wrecking business. This bonus game to me is integral to SF.

It's a year too late

I fucking called it when I said all those complaining about Arcade Mode would'd use the 'its too late' excuse.

Capcom cannot win because all of you have decided to hate the game for life. Arcade Mode is just a convenient banner to rally behind.

Still no news of a 3rd horizontal row for the character select screen? Those character portraits are getting pretty small. We're going to need magnifying glasses by S4 if they insist on keeping the 2 row lay out.

No it's just a basic feature of every fighting game that should be there from the beginning. While it's nice it's coming, it is the bare minimum and adding a basic feature a year after launch is not going to perform any miracles.

Really hope this is true. I need that arcade mode.

I see as usual some are trying to claim that thier personal preference applies to me and claim I never enjoyed playing them. Because obviously I've beaten the arcade mode in Alpha 2 well over 50 times just to punish myself.

They can't win, people that hate this game will never stop regardless of what is added. Best to just ignore them.

This is getting pathetic. Any criticism of this game is usually met with this kind of response.

Have you never thought that maybe your favourite game just isn't that good?

Nah. Any criticism of this game is usually met with pages upon pages of braindead "SF5 is shit" comments followed by no actual feedback followed by "Capcom is trash" comments, and the people who actually like the game and consistently play it, get labeled shills for having a different opinion.

They aren't going to put Arcade Mode in the game. They still haven't released "Extra Battle" from their original content plans.

And if it's from X-Kira, it's faker than fake.

This is straight up not true. There's been plenty of valid criticism made by the people who enjoy the game (gameplay, content, etc.) and perfectly fine discussion around it in the OT. While some of that criticism and discussion has also been present in gaming-side threads, a lot of it is drive-by, bare minimum shitposting in pretty much any thread that's SFV related.

As a current owner, better late than never.

If I was not an owner? It would definitely be too late.
That makes zero sense. SFV is a living product and if these rumours are true then people buying in later will get massively more content for way less money than everyone who bought in at launch.

Furthermore, if it's the causal audience who want this kind of content, the same audience who doesn't care about "competitive" play online, then it doesn't matter when they pick up the game to play with their friends or vs CPU. There's no expiration date and there's no superior SF type fighting game that makes SFV obsolete.

Anyone who trots out "too late" in response to these developments is totally brainless and just looking for complaints.

But there is one for Karin.

It's the Ibuki one that sells it. 100% confirmed real.

For all of those guys along for a Cliffnotes version, I made one yesterday.
If X-kira is to be trusted (he's about 50-50 so far on his calls), here's a big PDF of everything that's been found via datamining since launch:

- Arcade mode is fully programmed into the game, and is just waiting on Capcom to add in data to be fully functional. It has 10 stages, with a rival battle, a final boss at stage 10 and possibly a bonus stage or two.
- Likewise, the Arcade version of the game (set to run on Taito Type X machines) is also mostly programmed into the game.
- Stages have code in them to be customizable in time and weather, but it looks like this function was dropped in favor of Extra Stages.
- There is some sort of V-Mode select coded into the game for characters. It's unsure what exactly it does, but it's supposed to change attributes of the characters (likely for new V-mechanics).
- Extra Battle is going to be much more than just fighting NPCs. Matches are going to have way more challenging rules than most modes. Imagine Survival Mode, but with forced handicaps ranging from no blocking to limited CA to one-hit kills.
- Dojo mode exists, or at least did at one point. Based on what few lines of code exist, it seems to be a cross between World Tour mode and a special Tutorial.
- There are two more stages programmed into the stage select screen. More stages than that are coming, being Shadaloo Corridor (an extra stage for Shadaloo base, seems to be the Ibuki/Mika vs Boxer stage from Story mode), Cammy's SFII stage, and a stage seemingly related to Ibuki.
- Bipson, Karin, Ibuki, and Guile are getting new costumes.

I'd also like to add to this based on what I've been told by a certain member of this forum (that I won't name unless he's cool with it). Just note that everything here is a rumor, not a leak, especially as development seems to be very... volatile.

- Extra Battle has evolved into more of a challenge mode than just a series of fights. Arcade mode, Extra Battle, and "Dan's Dojo" all exist. That's the same chime coming from two different sources (3 if you count Capcom on the Arcade part).
- While both say a pre-match option exists, they differ in what it is exactly. Kira thinks it's related to V-mechanics, but the other guy says it's multiple CAs/Supers.
- The arcade version of the game is likely to launch with or around S3. It'll have full CFN integration, which might be a big reason the official website had a huge update recently.

So I have heard. But there are lot of info in that article on eventhubs. a 60 page long super detailed PDF book. This person must have a lot of time in their hand if they want to fake this lol.

A GAF poster once wrote a 6000-word essay of FAKE impressions of playing FFXV. Don't underestimate people's craziness.

This thread is already dead?

QUICK SOMEBODY SHIT ON CAPCOM!

SFV IS SHIT

IT WAS INCOMPLETE GARBAGE

EVERY FIGHTING GAME SHOULD COME WITH 62 CHARACTERS, 91 STAGES, 17.8 MODES, AND PAY HALF OF OF MY MORTGAGE

as someone who's very much into the FCG, I honestly don't really care about this game anymore. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Cool that they are still updating it for people playing.

I'll go back to twiddling my thumbs and waiting for MvC:I and DBZF.

The problem with that is that the game actually is quite good, but even putting that aside for a minute it's pretty obvious the discussion around the game has way more more bandwagoning haters than blind fanboy defenders.

This would be nice. I'll definitely play it more. Not really going to say much more as people seem to act like those who want arcade mode are lying or trolling for whatever reason. They already have my money, what would I get out of lying and saying I want arcade mode?

Lack of Arcade mode is something people have been very vocal about and seems like one of the easiest complaints to address. It's like the lowest hanging fruit. Puzzling they still haven't added it after all this time.

Based on rumblings from guys like Bornfree, the reason they're sitting on it is because they're trying to make it some crazy nostalgic Super Turbo Arcade mode for the 30th. Hence explaining why we've been getting so many SFII stages (particularly the bosses). Sagat and his stage coming out in December would be the final piece of the puzzle.
