I don't doubt the quality of the series' gameplay one bit, but...*grimaces while shaking grasping hand*...there's something off in my mind about an RPG set in a historical time period and having fantasy character designs. If it's a far off land in a far off time those outfits fit just fine, but it never jelled for me having fantasy outfitted people running around '10's Germany/Rome/etc.

Skinny dude with glasses looks very cool!

But why does the kid look like he stepped out of the 80s? I thought this game was set in the depression.

And you can't have too many ganguro indians

Awesome, I love that NYC shot... though I'm not too thrilled how the lead character is gonna be a kiddy this time around :P Hopefully it'll continue with its ridiculous humor the series is known for.

SH:C is probably my favorite RPG this generation so I have high hopes for this one.

I liked Shadow Hearts better when it was still a horror game, before it turned into a Final Fantasy knockoff.

?? All of the games called "Shadow Hearts" have been RPGs. The other games that precede this series weren't called Shadow Hearts... and had their own issues... and as for FF knockoff? The battle system in the SH's has been developing enough on it's own that besides the fact that both are turn based RPGs, their battle engines are fairly different.

Only the first game (Koudelka) was like the former, and it sucked...

And like stated above, FF and SH share tenuous ties, at best

I said horror, not survival horror. I loved Shadow Hearts because it combined decent RPG game mechanics with a creepy atmosphere. Covenant disappointed me because it cut back on the creepiness so much and these screens don't give me much hope that Nautilus is going to restore it for the third game.
