meh. Too many little details and in-jokes that will get tedious fast. Are they really using this same sequence from now on or just tonight?

They'll probably use a different (much shorter) couch gag.

I don't know, I liked it a lot.

Didn't even crack a smile.

A self-referential reminder of how the show has become a shell of what it used to be.

The Simpsons became boring when the writers believed that making episodes about everyday life couldn't be funny anymore.

They should just make the characters grow up year over year and stick to the regular stories. Make Bart and Lisa change class already.

I like it.. and you guys complaining probably stopped watching the show years ago. Admit it :P

I should have stopped, but the occasional decent episode now and then (like Dial N for Nerder) keeps me going.

Digital animation has killed this show just as much as the poor writing has.

I'm always grateful that they never brought back Uncy Herb (Powell) back into the newer episodes. I always wanted more eps with him when I was younger, yet now realise what a blessing it is they never brought him into the raping of memories.

How did Jebadiah Springfield get his head back?

Bart put it back on at the end of that episode, without using any sort of glue or welding though... unless your referring to a newer episode which destroyed that canon, though.

I didn't like it, not to sound like a negative nancy. It just tries to encompass as many visual gags in to try to get a laugh in. I liked it better when things were a bit more subtle.

Also, how burnt out are the producers on the show already? It's been something like 20+ years.

Does anyone else think the 'wealthy Texan businessman' is by far the worst recurring character in the shows history? I've never seen him do anything funny, and the sterotype is just so old.

I'm referring to the beginning of the opening where Jimbo, Dolph, and Kearney clearly cut it off, it lands on Ralph's head.

The couch gag is a normal gag after the opening sequence. It's not part of it.

Him and the dozens of other one dimensional characters they put in place of a decent plot.....

The couch gag is separate canon from the intro.
