New Simpsons Opening

I felt they played it up a little too much. It felt very crowded and self-aware. I guess the feeling stems from the fact that just about everything was taken from the original opening and characters/actions were added in everywhere.

However, I am not one to judge a show from its opening credits. I will continue to dislike the direction it has gone due to the excessive amplification of the things that made the characters funny in the first place... if that makes sense.

Completely agree. There is no subtlety to the jokes anymore. It's like all the characters have just become caricatures of themselves.

I really like LAST week's episode about Lisa's best friend. It would have been nice to have that in HD. Anyone else like it?

This week's was ok, digging into the past for some material. It was definitely enjoyable.

I liked it. Of course it does not have the charm of fully hand painted cells but I still think the new opening is nice. As some have mentioned before I missed the sigh of relief from Marge when Maggies head pop up from the bag of groceries but other than that I really liked it. I also found it funny that Homer got hit by the car... who knows maybe they will mix up things now that the opening is "digital".
