It could be a Santa Monica production as well, I just don't want more Killzone or God of War at this moment.

edit: also, when he said people will be shocked by what's going on behind the scenes. that give me feeling of 3rd party exclusive deal or something. why would people be shocked of what's behind the scenes for Sony dev developing Sony games.
unless maybe it's Jaffe, Barlog, and Asmussen re-united for a new IP. that'd be pretty crazy behind the scene.

As far as developers who it could be it could be
Sony Santa Monica seems like the front runner. its been a while since GOW3.
But then again other sony exclusive devs like the heavy rain guys or Media Molecule or even Sucker Punch... heck it could just be a 2012 game from Insomniac. they fart out games on a yearly basis.
Then 3rd parties it could be. Could be Epic. gears 3 was basically finished last year. that team could have something Or even Bungie.
something about that video has me thinking huge third party developer like Epic or Bungie but that seems like a LOOOOONNNNG shot.
Im hyped for a megaton but I should really just prepare for a "oh... its from sony dev X and they are making a game thats sort of like there other games"
It would be nice. I really like what epic did early on with the ps3 and unreal tournament 3, doesn't matter if the game was a success or not, what they did with allowing mods was just an amazing experience for the console gamer.
I really wish sony would push for more of that.
I think that was posted in the OP a little while ago but, whatever, he's going bonkers and now more folk have seen it.
I don't think people, or people on GAF at least, will fall for it again is this is underwhelming.
That "behind the scenes" thing has me scratching my head.

How would another installment of an existing IP be a "massive announcement"?
The hype/language/whatever suggests to me that Sony have actually managed to do something innovative, in secret, and it's going to genuinely surprise and impress people.
Which is not to say I strongly believe I will be surprised or impressed.

Watching this I am 100% convinced it's not an in-house Sony game, the he's so shocked there's been no leaks means it's obviously a Ubisoft game. Geoff has got me hook, line and sinker, master hype machine.

I'm really interested now. I'm' going to make popcorn this weekend and sprinkle crystal meth on it then chase it with pop-rocks just to feed myself the hype.
If this is something dumb like PS Home: Ant Colony or even something kind of exciting like the return of jet-pack girl I will be disappointed.

I'm convinced part of the "deal" which saw Bungie depart from MS was that any game they develop in the future has to be on Xbox too. As an aside, if it is true, I wonder if that only applies to this gen?

As much as I like new IP, this better not be an announcement of new IP. By definition, you can't hype new IP up this much because it's an unknown quantity. Something can't be unbelievable if I have no idea what it is even after hearing about it.

I'm a Geoff hype aficionado, I could do a documentary on it, that's how well versed I am in his ways. I think he is being genuine about this one. Maybe not to the tee, definite Geoff-hype in there but some legit hype as well.
