I dunno I hope it's not too cheesy. AHS is cheesy fun, this looks a bit more serious. I hope it's good. I'm very happy Netflix is doing its own stuff right now. House of Cards looks good, and Arrested Development goes without saying.

dat ass.

First time I'm hearing about this series, and it looks interesting bases off that video. Will watch.

Poster for the show has been released:

After House of Cards I have full confidence that this will be good. I'm definitely giving this a try once it's released.

Damn, how many shows do they have coming? If they are even moderately as good as House of Cards..... shots fired at traditional TV.

you think so? House of Cards was good but still quite a few notches below Mad Men, Breaking Bad and Boardwalk Empire if we're talking about TODAY's television shows (let alone shows from a few years ago)

the minute they lock up somebody like david chase for a new series....then we'll be talking.

House of Cards was an excellent start for Netflix's programming, can't wait to see how this turns out.

Hmm, looks interesting.

I'm not a huge Eli Roth fan, in front or behind the camera, but this does look quite cool. A little bit of a True Blood vibe, but I stopped watching that after four episodes. I'll give this a try, it does have me intrigued.

Bonus points for Dualla from BSG.

Also, I'm liking this new model from Netflix. It's a good way to encourage contract continuation.

Edit: that poster is cool too, quite clever. Just as the HoC one, with the blood dripping down the seat from Spacey's clenched grip.

Will this be released all at once like House Of Cards was?

Yeah. Not sure if this tradition will last long. As much as it's a great idea, they should release one per week to ensure:

1). Viewership. Members will stay and watch the entire season spanned between two months. No one will drain themselves by watching it all at once.
2). Buzz generated per episode. Reviews by blogs, etc etc. The show will remain active and the buzz usually helps in securing additional seasons.

That just isn't Netflix's model though and it's totally incompatible with the habits of their users. People don't "drain themselves" watching it all at once because they're forced to - they marathon the show because that's how they prefer to consume that content.

House of Cards was a big success for Netflix and Arrested Development will be too. I don't see Netflix changing their distribution model any time soon, if ever.

Do we want an OT made? I can bang something together, though I won't be able to update it or make it as exhaustive as I did for AHS: Asylum.

American Werewolf in London's transformation scene hasn't been topped yet over 30 years later

I personally like more the transformation in The Howling, made by Rob Bottin (The Thing), as it's more grotesque, but technically AWiL's is probably better.

I have a nagging suspicion The Hemlock Grove will be just another teen horror series, like True Blood and its ilk. Hopefully I'm wrong though.

the howling is great too, I agree. Rick Baker left the Howling to work on American Werewolf, so it actually worked out for the best. We got 2 great scenes from both films

I'm much less excited about this than House of Cards, Arrested, or even Orange in the New Black, but I'll give it a shot.

Yep. I'll give it a try because hell, I already subscribe to Netflix so why not, but I think it's easily the least interesting Netflix series announced so far.

Agreed. I think they're still the best representations of the genre, followed by Dog Soldiers (2002), Wolf (1994), Silver Bullet (1985), and The Company of Wolves (1984). Too bad there has been nothing worthwhile in over ten years.

Nostalgia is a hell of a drug.

You're saying the Hemlock Grove's CGI scene is better?

Agreed. I'm even more excited about Sense8 (ugh, what a stupid title), because for all their faults, the Wachowskis are nothing if not ambitious in their themes, even if their fils are imperfect creatures.

That is a sweet poster and I will watch any tv show so I am in!

Any TV show?
