It says this is the "real time engine". Very nice.

Some pics from the engine:

The pics are from IGN Xbox360. So, it's on both platforms?

I hope it stays that way if there is any potential in Wardevil. Sony can't have all the fun. And new information at TGS would be tasty, thank you.

this game is by a smaller team, they need a big company like MS or Sony to help them develop the game.

Didn't IGN, along with Team Xbox say Heavenly Sword was marked down for next gen Xbox release? These sites can be wrong. I guess we'll find out in a couple of months. :)

The trailer looks very nice, it has a certain Killzone PS3 quality look to it, very nice indeed.

heavenly sword was a 360 game till sony came a'callin iirc

I remember in an older EGM or OXM or something they had a next-gen games list, and they had listed Sega-Sammy as the publisher for Wardevil.

A slip?

They were looking for xbox/directx programmers before when the game was first shown. But of course things could change if SCEE stepped in.

Interesting how the game came from this last november :

Yeah, it looks much better, kinder like the same transition Heavenly Sword took if you compare the old screens with the E3 1080 shots. It'll be interesting if Sony have picked this up, as it signals that they're scurrying for fresh /content/IPs to mix with the old franchises.

Are these Wardevil guys going to the Germany game show? Any hint of the publisher Blim? :D

Some good info from the site, transcribed by yours truly :D

RTE1080Gallery

The new RTE1080 Engine, developed by Digi-Guys, allows for compelling & movie like in-game material.

All material in this Gallery are down-sized from the original 1080x1920(HD) output and are 100% in-game assets. They feature DOF (depth of field) but do not show camera based motion blur

RTE1080

The WarDevil RTE1080 Engine has been developed by Digi-Guys to realise the graphical depth & complexity that required for the WarDevil project.

Unlike other engines, the RTE1080 is desined to work in 1080x1920(HD) and to create a visual style that surpasses the look and feel of conventional Pre-rendered FMV sequences.

The goal of the RTE1080 Engine is to achieve in-game graphics that compare to the quality of pre-rendered sequences-creating a true cinematic games playing experience.

RTE1080 Engine Information

The RTE1080 Engine images on this site feature 8K character meshes and minimum 200K Environments. This is still running in test mode and these figures will multiply substantially as the power of the engine is increased to accomidate new development kit capablilites.

Key features of the RTE1080 Engine include real-time depth of field (variable focal points), true dynamic motion blur (on all on-screen elements) and complex camera visual FX (to simulate real world movie cameras) plus Dynamic Particles and Simulations, advanced animation tools, in-context game construction mode and target graphics/systems optimisation.

This video, IMO is only about one step below the PS3 Killzone 3 demo shown at E3...if it was shown at E3 as a PS3 demo, it would probably have been thought of as one of the best PS3 demos there.....fabulous stuff...

The more I see of what these next gen systems(paticularly the PLAYSTATION 3) are capable of, the more I believe KZ3-level graphics will be par for the course..

Hmmm...looks like WD might be a PS3 game:

"Dig-guys is proud to be using Sony's 2nd stage HDCAMSR High-Definition Studio VTR & unique blu-ray optical disc XDCAM systems".

I wonder if the unnamed publisher of WarDevil is SCEE???

I wouldn't be surprised if SCEE is publishing this. They seem to be really grabbing PS3 exclusives left and right. MS is mostly interested in American/Japanese developers.

Plus, this doesn't look like an X360 game... :D

wow, this looks amazing. and after seeing those new Quake4 screens, i can say that i dig the artdirection of Wardevil much more. it is not outstandig, as it reminds me of Star Wars, but it looks definately fresher than what Raven has up their sleeves.

I agree totally :D

Yeah, It wouldn't shock me if this game had the same fate of Heavenly Sword:developed on a PC, targeted for X360 but SCEE scoops them up, X360 version is killed and PS3 version starts....

That is just speculation though...WD might be an X360 exclusive for all we know...

However, the game *does* have that "PS3 look", if you get my drift :)

it looks okay, but it's no quake 4

hahahaha, great one.

If this both games represent the distance from initial projects in Xbox 360 and PS3, MS is going to have a really bad time. Just the art of this Wardevil it´s stunning, really original.

It's called "pre-rendered" :P

Some of the PS3 stuff was prerendered, but some of it wasn't.....all of it looked good to me and the best realtime PS3 stuff (Ni-oh, Lair, FF7, UT 2007) look like CG...

The fact War Devil "looks" pre-rendered, but isn't, reminds me of those realtime PS3 stuffs :)

I'm not impressed by all the stupid robots, but it was nice looking. :/

I'd rather see more stuff of this sort than "real" Xbox1.5 games that look like a Viewmaster picture show. :lol

Don't forget Gundam, people pretty much passed over it thinking it was prerendered CG because well first it looks damn good and second it was from freakin' Bandai!!

Like the "real" captures of Quake 4? Seeing Gears of Wars, I know 360 is powerful, but I have my doubts that 360 can stand the first wave of PS3 games if they look something like this.
