For anyone who never bought the X-Files DVD sets because they are so damned expensive, Fox is releasing a four-disc (16-episode) set containing all of the "Mythology" episodes from Seasons 1-3 in order beginning with the pilot. The set will be under $40.

Since it's only the mythology episodes from the first three seasons, there will probably be more sets completing the arc.

They are $150 in the US. Way too expensive.

Fox lowered the prices on the X-Files season sets to $99.99 MSRP, so you can find it new, online for 65$ or so. Not quite as expensive as before. I have no problem with the conspiracy best of sets, as long as they release the seasons sets to go along with it. Unlike The New Outer Limits (Showtime version) which only has released best of sets so far, so no money from me.

I learned my lesson after buying the first season at near full price. It was $110 at Walmart, and then I got the second for like $80, and the sixth for like $65 and the seventh for like $55. It just keeps dropping.. :lol

Wow, bad boxart. That alone kills it for me (the regular editions are just nice looking). Plus, I only really care enough to collect the show up till season 5, so I'll pass.

The standalones are lightyears better than the conspiracy arc episodes anyway. Plus fuck Duane Barry, the most annoying character ever to grace the X Files screen.
