New Xbox BC Titles Apparently Datamined

Licensing issues make this impossible. I would kill for NCAA 14, which might be possible but would never happen due to them wanting to build hype for the new game
I know it's not possible, but it doesn't stop me from posting about it. I only hope people from EA see it. Why? Because a 15+ year old game kicks the shit out of what they're shoveling. Even NCAA 14 beats modern day Madden.

I mean, I'm still rocking a modded Xbox that can play ALL of these games, haha.

I know the BC versions offer enhanced visuals and locked framerates and all that, but you can get an original Xbox for stupid cheap and they are incredibly easy to mod. Even if that is too much for the average Joe, you can buy a pre-modded one off eBay LOADED with games and emulators and all that for about $100. Connectivity is probably the biggest hurdle. I bought a custom HDMI breakout box for $50 that looks waaaaay better than component or those shitty Pound HDMI cables. I also picked up a custom bluetooth controller box so I can use Xbox One/Series controllers on the damn thing! All told, my investment in this setup was around $250, and it's pretty much the best way to experience these games on original hardware in 2021, save for adding in extra RAM and a CPU swap....but those are fairly advanced mods, haha.

If even that is too much of an investment....just wait a couple more years and Xbox emulation will be EXTREMELY good if it keeps up with the pace it's currently at.

Hell even 360 emulation on PC is getting pretty damn good these days.

OG hardware failure is a common thing. The clock capacitor is ready to blow on most of these consoles. Emulation is nowhere near good enough yet. Castlevania won't run right on original hardware depending on the hardware revision.

I'd rather have a One or Series console hooked up and running the games, than need to deal with my original Xbox consoles.

Surely this won't happen? Its going to be an issue with car licenses. Reason why Forza 7 has been delisted is because the licenses have expired and no doubt all contracts related to PGR have too (a long long time ago).

I hope I'm wrong but I just don't see it happening. Ever.
But how come Forza Horizon 1 is BC?

Just a couple more please:
Otogi 1+2

Make it happen MS.

I would LOVE to play through Otogi again. Felt like I found a diamond in the rough when I randomly selected that as the game to rent as a teenager. FromSoftware knocked it out of the park in that generation too.

Yes, you might have to maintain the capacitors if they are bulging(I've yet to have to do this on either of mine), and the clock capacitor removal is extremely easy. Castlevania runs just fine for me, and if it has the audio bug it can be patched on a modded Xbox. Emulation is VERY good for literally hundreds of games already...there are plenty of games hitting 1440p-4K@30fps and 60fps, including Castlevania btw, if you have a beefy rig. This will only get better.

I have a Series X and the OG Xbox BC available is...lacking, to say the least. Convenient, but devoid of 90% of the games I want to play, and honestly, I'm not holding my breath that it gets much better.

Here we go :

"Looking back through our store data, we saw seven OG Xbox games added to the new Microsoft Store from the old Xbox 360 store in September, all with a strange November 30th release date. These titles include one of the best-received original Xbox launch titles Dead or Alive 3 (which would tie in nicely with the Xbox 20th anniversary celebrations if it does get added to the program), Dead or Alive Ultimate, Full Spectrum Warrior: Ten Hammers, Gladius, Gunvalkyrie, Advent Rising, and bizarrely, Chicken Little. They have all since been removed from the store."

DOA Ultimate, Gladius and GunValkyrie ? Yes please !

Awesome if true - would love to see the BC program come back into full swing.

Max Payne 1 + 2, I played recently on PC. Still excellent titles but they do have some quirks to get running. Would easily replay them again on Xbox just for no tinkering needed.

Those games are not yet showing on an actual X360 console, yet. I want my DOA Ultimate back. :messenger_crying:
I'll just be happy to play me purchased Xbox Max Payne on the new consoles, I did buy that PS2/PS4 version but my god, it's shit tier. Just like the ps2 psychonauts. Makes me want to puke.

What's the difference? I haven't tried them.
Lower resolution, less geometry, missing graphics effects, missing bump maps and speculars, lower texture quality, etc etc, those games were atrocious on PS2 since it was a less capable machine than the Xbox

Well, at least the resolution should no longer be a problem if they come back as all original xbox titles get the 4k treatment (well at least the resolution is upped to be 4k-isch).

Only original xbox games so far. E.g. still missing max payne 3 on the list.

While I remember, Dead or Alive 1 is a port of the Saturn version NOT the Model 2 arcade. It was part of the 2 disc set for Dead or Alive Ultimate so it's a ripp off that they are selling it separately for $14.99 now.

All these games frequently go on sale. If you don't have to have it, it'll be $4 within a year.

don't forget that you can also get the disc versions of these and play them that way. the store download version is just another way to get back compat games.

you can get DOA Ultimate for 2€ at the moment on ebay... like.. that is dirt fucking cheap

im freaking out in a good way, i been waiting for more BC news for ages.
More OG Xbox titles makes this a winner of an update. Can't wait to see if Digital Foundrys John does an analysis to see if the emulator has been improved in any way. It's been a long time.

That's EXACTLY what happened to me this morning. Now, I thought it was because the game was region locked for downloading as a few titles are since I am in China and I've had the purchase then cannot download and I see that guy is also on a 360. So maybe this game is region download locked like Ninja Gaiden Black (Because it's a Tecmo title).

Someone might want to tweet the guy and see if his console lets him download NGB, it won't charge the card, but just tell you the title cant be downloaded.

On the plus side though, the game is on his account and will be able to be downloaded on an Xbox One or higher model.
