According to rumors floating about, Rupert Murdoch may be interested in purchasing Korean game publisher NCSoft, the company behind games like City of Heroes, Guild Wars, and the upcoming Tabula Rasa. Murdoch's News Corp. already purchased IGN earlier this year, and a lot of people in the know seem to think that he is on the look out for more purchases in the videogame sector.
While this rumor appears to be a bit of a long shot, it does come from Bill Bishop, CEO of MMORPG publisher Red Mushroom. Before this, he was co-founder and general manager of CBS MarketWatch before it was bought out by Dow Jones last year. Considering this source, and the deluge of connections he likely has, in the very least it seems a good idea to keep an eye on this rumor.
