1. Steam is only about 20-25% of PC market, the majority of PC market are off Steam (LoL, Fortnite, Genshin&co, WoW etc)
2. Playtime is a different thing to both number of players and games played.

What's the source on that regarding Steam? I also find it incredibly unlikely that number of games played on Steam is down compared to Covid era when the number of concurrent users has doubled and new game revenue has increased massively.

It seems these metrics are of no interest; they don't fit with the narrative that consoles are dying that they want to sell.

Year over year growth doesn't mean better than PS4. Xbox is shitting the bed. PS5 is not doing anywhere near PS4 + 1/2 of Xbox's decline. That is pretty strong data that consoles are not doing great. It's not dying out, it's just not growing fast.

I really don't know why you console fanatics can so easily ignore hard numbers like this. PS5 sold less than PS4 to this point in it's life. Xbox Series sold much less than Xbone. If consoles were doing gangbusters why are both down? If PS5 is winning so hard, why didn't it convert more people who had Xbones?

And I really don't know how PC fans forget that PS5 was out of standard stock in Europe and Japan until January 2023 (in the USA in 2022) coming out in November 2020 and yet it is about to reach and surpass PS4 being much more expensive, it has been selling more than 20 million for the last two years (something that PS4 never did) and this year it's GTAVI's turn, and in a few weeks Switch 2 will be released and it will break sales records for sure, the consoles are not bad, Xbox is.
