Next-gen internal storage: lower capacity SSD or higher capacity HDD?

How about I can just attach a hard drive. Any one that I want. IDE, USB, whatever. Its just storage, stop fucking robbing me blind for it.

I mean, do you know how many XBLA games I haven't bought, just because I didn't want to delete other stuff to make room?

These companies are all constantly moronic.

My preference is a larger conventional hard drive but I suspect we're going to see a combination of internal SSD, USB storage, and cloud storage.

I'd be fine with normal high capacity HDD.

I just hope that all 3 manufacturers assign some RAM specifically for each other their OSes.

They should probably have both... Small SSD cache drive and large HDD drive. At the very least they should start off by making the cache a separate small partition on the HDD and then newer models of the system down the line could switch over to SSD for that partition as SSD's get cheaper.

I say...

  • 32 or 64GB of internal flash with 8GB of that dedicated for game cache.
  • SD card slot and USB for extra user storage.

I'm so done with mechanical hard drives, and with the flooding in Taiwan it's going to be a while before hard drove prices stabilize again. I think ~64GB of internal flash would be the best idea, and let users expand on it as they see fit without having to mess with taking stuff apart.

Well i would know since i own one and paid far less then you. No need for sour grapes or poor attitude

If you own one you would've known intel makes the best ssd. Get your facts straight before spewing out bs. Im not sour, $200 was worth the crucial and i own 2.

I wouldnt mind ssd/hdd but i highly doubt console makers would want to increase their cost.

But only the 320? That one only does SATA II, but not III. Bummer.
