Boys this is it. PS5 reveal is upon us.

So cooling teardown and design reveal then perhaps GoT gameplay deep dive and dev interview, finished with just few seconds montage of some upcoming game sneak peeks...

I am actually agree with him ..... oh God I feel dirty

Specially in the guy he retweet 'Consoles won't get there until there is no appreciable difference in graphical fidelity between a game at 30fps and a game at 60fps'
yeah you can kill me but at least tell my cat .... the hate is mutual.

Those are some glorious titles, but are they owned by Sony? I doubt that. Some of those studios might even disappeared. The Colony Wars with the new SSD would be SICK! MotorStorm might clash with The Crew title.
All those IPs are owned by Sony, which owned the now extinct Psygnosis. Who are The Crew? A new dev studio?

My friend, buy something similar to this recliner chair:

And you'll regret spending your part time on monitors. :messenger_winking_tongue:

I think most of them are pretty reasonable to happen, not necessarily at launch, but sometime along the road. And yes, a hardcore Killzone shooter game would benefit Sony a lot and give it some of the COD/BF pie. Heck, try inventing your own free shooter like fortnite and PUBG.

I would die for another Days Gone 2 myself, not gonna say why (spoilers).

The reclining chair looks awesome, but that for me is associated with reading on my Kindle and drinking my coffee. Gaming on TV for me is a no-go, but who knows what future might bring 😄

Ok, I know this is going to be something out of left field... but should I play now Killzone? I never picked it up at the beginning of this generation, I went Infamous all the way. But since everyone is praising it... did I miss a lot, cause it damned well sounds like it?

Everyone is praising it? It was bashed by the critics as a mediocre game. Maybe they are looking through nostalgia glasses.

That is why I am asking, I don't remember many people here saying bad things about Killzone though. I looked at the gameplay and it seemed like a pretty much generic shooter to me, but maybe there's something I am not seeing?

I don't believe too much in critics either, they're just people with their own opinions at the end of the day. It's true I spent a lot of money on idiotic games (a few come to mind) WHILE not listening to the critics, but there are also a few gems out there bashed by said critics. So the truth is somewhere in the middle I guess.

As an ex-critic let me say: un-hearing critics and asking for GAF opinions is like leaving drinking while bathing in whiskey. I loved the first PS2 Killzone and hated the rest of main iterations, for what is worth.

Famous words "this event is special."

I refuse to get hyped; actually I am already prepared to be disappointed, it's a safer bet these days.

Thank you for the honest opinion, mate, appreciated. I do get hyped for certain games more than others, but for Killzone the hype factor simply wasn't there for me.

Sorry guys, but we will not see any new real PS5 infos and hardware until Sony announces this in advance and then presents it at an (online) event.

The question with Sony is not when but who. Who are they going to sacrifice when they announce next gen full reveal? GoT? June event. TLoU2 and GoT? May event. Neither? August event.

One thing I note in there too is that on the X the SSD feeds the controller that is on the SOC, Sony's approach seems to almost completely bypass this (obviously there needs to be some orchestration made by the CPU and or GPU to request the relevant data).

How much work are those I/O processors doing, do they cut latency beyond that the extra lanes do? and why did Cerny bother mentioning that they can move around 21GB/s when he stated that the data compression allowed for 8-9GB/s bandwidth?

I probably need to re-watch with a few drinks in.

You might want to add to your inquiry: Coherency Engines is plural, how many of them? On-chip RAM, how big is that?

We always say the PS5 I/O has 6 custom chips in them that would leave the XSeX I/O in the dust. If we could know the number of coherency engines, that would inflate our numbers even more and win the console war debate further. :messenger_sunglasses:

5 coherency engines means there are a total of 10 custom engines in the PS5 I/O compared to only 2 in the XSeX.

Is that why PS5 loading is less than a second, while XSeX loading is 11 seconds? :messenger_face_screaming:

He isn't ignorant by any means, he's just an agenda-driven arrogant person.

OK so 12.1/10.28 =1.177 so lets say 18% in the best scenario which never will happens because the TF doesn't scale in that way
but whatever.

If PS5 is 30 fps for xbox is 30*1.18=35.4 so 35 in the best scenario both using a similar RT in that framerate, I am sure when I graduated from university
the math still works in that way...

Yeah even in the best scenario which never will happens because reality still be 5 frames with luck ignoring how the memory, each
API with its respective tools will affect and the SSD with a delta of almost of the double in favor of PS5.

Note: Caio Caio that kind of behaviour is which I was talking about

I think we have to wait a bit longer to know exactly how both matchines perform and the real difference in real time scenario. Launch Games and 1st generation games will just scratch the surface of all their capabilities.

Also remember that the 10.28 TF of PS5 is not sustained like the 12.155 of XSX, and the 10GB of GGDR6 into XSX are 25% faster than the GGDR6 into PS5.
The CPU of XSX is also faster the PS5's one. Again, I have no idea how exactly the two architecture will perform in real time applications, so it's more safe to keep "numbers" for ourselves( like 18% or 25% or whatever) and let the Developers speak for us, the ones who really know what they are talking about.
My two cents.

There are plenty of developers saying that the differences in terms of graphics are not as dramatic as this gen, but people refuse to listen.

More rumour and speculation

Not a cat in hell's chance.

I'd buy that for a dollar!

Edit: sorry for the double post.

I'm not getting hyped up over anything Keighley says. I mean, kudos to the guy for what he is doing with TGA and Summer Games Fest but still, he is the type that would hype it up even if it was a Minesweeper 2 announcement.
