I'm not being disingenuous, you are just completely blind to the times Sony is "acknowledging" Microsoft in the exact same way Microsoft does, by talking up something that is a differentiator while not actually mentioning the competition. You're being disingenuous by ignoring the obvious intended ambiguity of a lot of MS next-gen PR claims, versus Sony who so far has simply refused to acknowledge the competition at all.
Sony isn't claiming to be the "only fully RDNA2" console which is a statement that makes clear implications about the competitor's product. They've simply focused on promoting their own product and features.
It's not about being butthurt about anything. It's simply making observations about the PR approach of the two companies.
If anything, your insistence to jump in and defend MS and cry fanboy when a PR tweet is criticized says more about your own emotional platform biases than anyone else's here. The irony is that by projecting your own onto others, you're only really outing yourself.
That was divine intervention. Take it as a sign.

Cerny's road to PS5 when he talked about CU count vs. clock frequency... Jim Ryan when he talked about believing in generations vs. Microsoft's "support last gen" approach (of course Sony also bullshitted people about games being PS5 only right up until they weren't.)Can you post a single example of this?
Rough math based on PS5 SOC being 760x440 pixels, and XSX SOC being 726x530 pixels:Here's my rough overlay using the same corner to line them up

why? what?Stealth tip that Sony is doing a deal with AT&T for more than just crunchy roll?![]()
Nope. What do you think the ASIC is? Call it semantics, but the truth is that it is not the same as the OEM part.you do realize their "custom" drive has:
the exact same controller
It's become clear to me IntentionalPun is intolerant of us fanboys.I'm not being disingenuous, you are just completely blind to the times Sony is "acknowledging" Microsoft in the exact same way Microsoft does, by talking up something that is a differentiator while not actually mentioning the competition.
And people 100% get butthurt over MS marketing here.. It was literally called "fucking shameful" when MS tweeted about how their backwards compatibility doesn't involve downclocking lol
You guys literally never shut up about MS's marketing.. I mostly ignore it myself, and then point out when it's particularly dumb.
And I'm a far bigger Sony fan than I am an MS fan.. so miss me with that "no yer projecting" crap... notice I didn't call anyone a fanboy.. good grief... talk about projecting lol
why? what?
I just don't understand obsessing over a product you wont' buy, or a company from a product you'll never buy lol Not telling anyone to stop commenting on Xbox as an actual product... but their marketing and Xbox fanboys living rent free in everyone's head here is annoying to me as there's nothing remotely interesting about it.It's become clear to me IntentionalPun is intolerant of us fanboys.

WTF is Shakedown: Hawaii? The last game released on the PlayStation 3 was Shakedown: Hawaii, on August 20, 2020
They aren't sacrificing anything.. it's just different settings targeting different priorities. Why these new consoles are sacrificing too much for 120Hz?
Makes sense
WTF is Shakedown: Hawaii?
The last first party game seems to be 2016 for PS3 (MLB).
That is how you sacrifice something... you remove from one place to give in another... 700p resolution on 2020? C'mon... 1500p resolution in 12TFs power? It must be a joke. They aren't sacrificing anything.. it's just different settings targeting different priorities.

ROCKET LEAGUE ON PLAYSTATION 5
Available at launch: 4K Resolution (checkerboard) at 60 FPS with High Dynamic Range (HDR)

My issue is not even that... the PS5 using the PS4 Pro mode is expected and I really won't be affected by that.Looks like ps5 does not get a patch and runs rocket league as ps4 pro (for now)
I guess it is up to either developers or if Microsoft or Sony pay for a patch.
It's literally just a setting you don't have to use.. the word "sacrifice" is a bit dramatic, as nothing is actually removed from the game itself, just that setting.
They are doing it because people like high framerate gaming. If you don't care, don't use the setting.
IF the PS5 has / will have support for the PS3 (and that is a very big IF with everything we know), it won't be in the SSD controller.
It is too far away from the APU and connected too slow (only like 7GB/s)
Other positions it can be:
1. In the tempest audio engine: Mark cerny said that this is very similar to the SPEs of the Cell, so it might be used to emulate the chip. During emulating PS3 the PS5 should not really use tempest anyway.
2. Added instructions to the GPU to accelerate the PS3 emulation. In the open Source emulator a lot of stuff is done in the GPU...
3. hire some software magicians who are able to emulate the PS3 "fast enough" without hardware Cell emulation.
Even if they added more hardware to help it's still gonna need to be emulated. The Tempest engine already behaves a lot like the SPU's as Cerny mentioned. Emulating the PowerPC parts isn't that hard. And no matter what method they choose not every game is going to work without checking.
Besides if they want to keep streaming them on PS Now they will one day have to find new ways of running the games on the servers as it's highly unlikely there are new ones being made..
So a pure software solution which can run on any device fast enough and/or an emulator using Tempest engine to help seems more likely to me.
Didn't you see that IntentionalPun is intolerant of fanboy warriors such as yourself. So I hope you aren't looking for support from him.IntentionalPun Don't you know MS=BAD PS=GOOD? It's so easy!
My issue is not even that... the PS5 using the PS4 Pro mode is expected and I really won't be affected by that.
But I keep sawing games with ridiculous modes in 120fps (on PS5 either... it just that the last one I resolved to post about) that makes me wonder consoles developers are losing the touch of what the console is suppose to do.
Any of these consoles are near strong enough to run decently 120fps but devs keep trying and shaming themselves.
Why these new consoles are sacrificing too much for 120Hz?
Actually that is 4x more.
