If they really want to make a big Twitter splash then they could just Tweet $399. That would get Sony's attention, right?
Isn't just it just like when those PS4 guys swapped games and took the piss out of Xbox.No boost mode and no downclocking bits are the kind of attention seeking PR talk that shows how much they are actually lagging behind the competition.
They actively need to bring the competition into the conversation, and that's quite honestly a sign of weakness and shows where you stand on the pecking order.
It's called competition. Whether you like the style or not. And pr always seems to be right at the edge of lies for most corporations.Pathetic.
i see nothing about him decent.Phil seems like a decent guy all round and does loads of interviews but others don't instill confidence. Sony seem to have pulled back from having any execs or otherwise engage with the fans. Even Sid Shuman is on the periphery TBH and barely seen/heard from.
Great news, but Microsoft was always ahead of Sony when it came to backwards compatibility so this isn't really a surprise.
Didn't see this one posted (might have missed it).
He basically iterates what I got out of Cerny's initial talk: Super fast SSD performance as an overall system booster.
They dont really need to match sony though. They need to show good looking compelling games .they have their own powerful hardwrae that needs good looking next gen games .thats all tbhI think MS needs to show 2 things
1. Fast loading of XSX and cut the crap, 5 GB in 1 second no excuses
2. Fast streaming of high quality assets
Otherwise XSX will be a beast of last gen rendering and assets and stuff looking like it does on ps4 and xb1 with more resolution and frames and a few shiny bits - and thats about it.
Sony have shown
1. Spiderman loading in under a second
2. UE5 demo showing mega streaming stupidly high assets.
Its MS Time to show....something - and cut the marketing bullshit.
This tells me ps5 news is soon
Because they deliver a better BC experience? This is basically the problem, one looking at the past, whilst the other looking at the future.
I agree, not sure why they are waiting so long. Of course it's a lot of time before the release of these consoles and they might not want to jump the gun with their games OR they haven't got anything remotely as impressive to show like the UE5 demo.I think MS needs to show 2 things

Exactly. They both need to start dropping our jaws moreWe have only seen 1 generational leap so far, that is the UE5 demo on ps5. Thats it, full stop, the end, nothing comes close.
We need to see some more examples.
The reloading of a pause state is nothing to do with unoptimsied game though, that is reloading 5 GB or so of a last gen game that has been stored and reoloaded by XSX using all its hardware bells and whistles, SFS, VRS, BCPack, light saber, the one ring, bla de blah
So 5 GB is generous, probably allot less as obviously will be a compressed save state.
Fact is, what has been shown sio far by MS, XSX is very slow I/O compared to Ps5 however you want to dress it.
Isn't just it just like when those PS4 guys swapped games and took the piss out of Xbox.
And it is the truth, so people should just take it on the chin, after all TF don't matter, SSD, Ureal 5 Demo etc.
Try and look at it from the neutral point.
Because they deliver a better BC experience?Yeah ok...

How do render time performance enhancements (SFS, VRS, BCPack, etc.) improve a ram dump? How is the dump processed? what decisions are being made regarding what is being stored and what is being thrown away? How long does it take for the system to spin up the correct OS and hypervisor for the game selected? How much does the simultaneous dump of the current instance effect the speed of loading the next?
While we are at it whats the most compatible console ever ??Holly Moly is that really from Microsoft.
That's beyond a cheap shot from them.
I expect better.
This tells me ps5 news is soon
Actually to turn the ship now they need to show launch games that are more impressive on the XSX than anything on the PS5. I don't think people want to look at demo's or tech stuff anymore. Just show games. They dont need a UE5 demo, just show 5 GB of game loading in 1 seconds, done, Can be anything at all, and most people will accept it is CAPABLE.
The one with the biggest library? Just guessing. While we are at it whats the most compatible console ever ??doesn't even make sense haha
I am looking at it from a neutral standpoint. I am purely analyzing the way they message and market.
You're talking about this:
This video of Yoshida is funny, it answered a question everybody was making back then and makes no reference of the competition (wee see it in an ironic way). That's why it got almost 20 million views.
What I'm referencing in the Xbox Tweet is neither. It's bitter, it doesn't answer a question that people were making, and makes a reference to the competition (unless downclocking or boost mode were ever used in Xbox??).
It's very different.

Sure, I get that. But I would rather have the best actual gaming experience than having an impressive demo. If they would come out with something similar now, what does that show you? Only that both systems are very similar, while they want to show you their system is much better. I just hope they don't want to wait until July to show us something, and make use of their June event. Some want to know when next gen engines come out (like UE5) the XSX can play strongly or will it be a down graded experience.
Its not hard to figure out, read any message board for last 2 weeks.
And even if they did drop out of consoles after XSX they would have been in the space 23 years plus, that's more than Sega home console. I'd hardly put it in the same field as Zune, Lumia or MiniDisc. They've got to jump on everything, all that matters is results. Recent politics demonstrates that.
In this case they're relying on people mistakenly associating PS5's fixed power strategy with PC Turbo Boost modes, helped by Cerny using word Boost, and most laypeople associating clock-speed with work done, rather than power-draw and therefore heat as Prime95 will quickly tell you.
It's a bit cheap and underhanded, but it's also aggressive and Microsoft need to make big inroads this generation or I think they'll move entirely to streaming to compete with Stadia and Amazon's offering.
Won't be the first time they've thrown the towel in on some market they've tried to break into.
Not the dump, just the loading. Or show anything loading in 1 second for 5 GB,
anything.
How do you judge someone so defiantly you've never met loli see nothing about him decent.
Because they deliver a better BC experience?Yeah ok...

To long to slow, you know: "no loadings screens and boot within 1 Second"
old-gen intro is to slow/long for the Speedstation 5![]()
if you asking me that, first ask milkman why he says that he is decent? it goes both ways. especially in this forum with human expertsHow do you judge someone so defiantly you've never met lol
makes no reference of the competition

You mean like titles such as Gran Turismo and Uncharted? You don't need to kill your franchises if they are still good... Do you expect the same from Elder's Scroll or GTA?Have they killed their exclusives as Sony has ? Since PS1, exclusives evolved so many times on PS. Halo is still here since the first MS console. Sign that they are focused on the past. The day they will kill Halo, will mark the day MS has grown up.
The biggest library.Guys no one explained . Whats the most compatible ever?
Doesn't even make sense

Oh please... lol
If that makes no reference to the competition than either does the XBox tweet.

Speaking of which, does anyone think some ML was added to the TAAU to give the UE5 demo SUCH A CLEAN IQ that even DF was problems pixel counting?Maybe I missed it, but why aren't there more discussions about machine learning? I know that a chief studio officer from EA, I believe, made mention of machine learning being powered by the GPU in one of the WIRED articles from 2019. But my questions are:
1. Why didn't Mr. Cerny speak or give any hint about ML in his 'Road to PS5' talk?
2. If ML is present, then is it the same kind of implementation that MS has in their XSX? Basically, does the PS5 support ML just like the XSX does?
I want to know the PS5 won't down clock under heavy load and down grade the experience with stutters. We have no clue what profile any developers kit demo runs on that does not equal retail and throttling on the PS5.Some want to know when next gen engines come out (like UE5) the XSX can play strongly or will it be a down graded experience.

The article that went along with the Xbox tweet describes that every game runs at the full clocks of the XSX; there is no "legacy mode" running BC games at last-gen speeds.. it's all next-gen speeds. It's promoting a positive aspect of XSX.You're wrong and that's all there is to it. You won't find a single reference to the competition in the Yoshida video.
It's also clear you pay no attention to message, and probably have no feel for how to message in the first place.
I can tell you Yoshida's video is about how it works(positive) instead of about how it doesn't work(negative).
Yeah I know PR is PR. Thank you for that lesson.
yep. thats why ive never bought Phil's good guy persona. hes out there tweeting timdog and other toxic gamers while singing kumbaya with Shu and pretending to be pro consumers. it was hilarious to see him put Sony execs on the spot for fortnite crossplay while forcing xbox owners to buy XBL Gold subs for F2P games. So he gets access to the 110 million PS4 userbase for free while literally gating his own userbase.Posted at 06:00 local shortly after a ERA thread about BC. OK.
In any case I'm not a fan of that kind of tick box Tweet. Goes against how Phil, Shu and other "rival" execs talk about each other in interviews and photo ops.
Which is it crying they abandon to quick or no x series exclusives because of xbox one support this fall my neck hurts from the back and forth. Really make your minds people. So Sony is showing games for its current gen console, meanwhile Microsoft is firing shots over next gen consoles.
Lol they really have nothing left this gen.
