Wait, so the game is using temporal injection in the 4K/60 mode according to the PlayStation website. But if you pixel count the footage it looks as native 4K? count me the fuck in!

Ok it makes more sense now why RT isn't included in this performance mode. It's pushing 8x the pixels!

its unhealthy how you guys post clear dumb comments from bloody youtube! and twitter! and act like its majority and annoy yourselves
I've seen random Twitter/Youtube comments from both sides and I lose brain cells reading them, but yeah I agree, also no point in posting them here, adds nothing to the discussion and is irrelevant.

I'd agree with you in most cases, but the PS5 "overheating" nonsense literally spawned from a dumb YouTube comment. So much so, that popular YouTuber's like ReviewTechUSA, SpawnWave, Boogie, etc. covered it. Furthermore, it created unnecessary drama amongst both fanbases.

Windows Central did alot of damage with that FUD.

Yeah thats what Ratchet & Spidey will use. Its basically "fake 4K" that looks great. And at 60 Hz. Gotta love it.

The particles seem too crazy, the sony UIs generally convey calm. I think it's a concept and they scammed someone $ 100.
No thats real. Same particles were shown in June PS5 showcase. It just looks like an early devkit or something not final.

The PS4 UI already has a similar particle dynamic theme, so this just looks like a new version that style.

...or, how about I take it up with the person posting the material rather than involve a mod?

It's a simple principle. I think that if you have insider info and you can share it, great. Get it verified and off you go!
If you can't share it, also fine, but keep it to yourself rather than making vague hints and then refusing to clarify.
II don't think he was vague at all. :messenger_grinning_sweat:
Don't be so dense, he is an insider. A lot of times, the best he can do is be vague about it, to avoid causing other people trouble. .Is that such a hard concept to grasp? He can't straight up leak things.

What do you mean?
Well of course the build is early and is missing various details the PS4 has (shadow quality, draw distance) but you would assume that if the PS5 was rendering this internally at say 1440p or slightly higher that there should be sufficient headroom to improve the overall visual fidelity while still maintaining 60fps.

I think that PS5 footage looks better than the PS4 Pro version but at 60 FPS, so idk. I noticed more NPCs and vehicles around in the world, and the lighting looks better. And of course its not final footage.

What's the bet the same people who are pro having to buy new controllers are the same people who will happily pay for remasters that they have already bought last gen

it's a shitty anti consumer move...no way to frame it any better but there will be an army to defend the decision

Sony want you buying the latest accessories at a premium which will offer a minimum user experience over the old controllers

This has been the same every generation of PS consoles. The anti-consumer nonsense is some made-up talking point to deflect from a lack of games. Buy what you want. Vote with your dollar. If an army of people are going to buy the remakes and the new accessories, then it's not as anti-consumer as you're pretending it is.

In light of Microsoft acquiring Zenimax has "insider" mentioned if sony has anything going on behind the scenes? Even their reaction to the news? I know we havent received a statement or comment from sony about it but it seems like something you would want address, even in passing.

Rumor has it they are making multiple polished AAA games people actually want to play.

Did Sony or Microsoft force you to buy their new stuff? its your money! do whatever you want to do or others same with their money.

I believe Cerny. Sony showed ratchet, Spider-Man and Demon's Souls all have less than a second loading ( some of that time is transition animation rather than actual loading ). This is why PS5 does not need quick resume, games cold boot in a second
Sony might need a quick pause feature. I can't make it back to the couch from getting my controller in less than 5 seconds.

I am not sure what causes this.

Could it be that the old saves with Keys filtered by the Scene are played directly on PS5 (in PS5 mode)?

Maybe the games before X.xx system version are compromised and to avoid the possible key leak by brute force by having two comparatives they are simply useless?

It's a speculation of mine.

It's because they have different product codes. Save and game data is tied to the product code.

It's a slippery slope which snowballs into other issues

Naughty dog would of potentially released lou2 much earlier and we could of been playing a follow up or a new ip if they were not making paid remasters of tlou1 and uncharted

paid remasters are just lazy
I think back to all the cool games and variety we had in the ps2 gen and this last generation has been nothing but remasters and sequels.

These are fun games but if you continue to support this sort of practice you are going to get more of the same this gen

Here is the thing. people were saying ps5 gpu is 2070 super while xsx is 2080, I know for a fact that my 2070 super cannot run RT reflection 1440p/60fps on pc high settings.

I can't wait to see how people will react when the consoles are released.

Naughty Dog said the PS4 port of The Last of Us was a helpful step to learn how to program for the PS4 hardware. It was a learning curve from being used to developing for the PS3 Cell. If they had just started with Uncharted 4 (which Amy Henning's team did begin pre-pro around 2012) that would have still taken them longer than you think, they had to rework their engine for X86 architecture.

Bluepoint did the Uncharted 123 Nathan Drake collection that came out in 2015. Naughty Dog didn't do that remaster trilogy.

The Last of Us Part 2 was delayed by Uncharted 4 being made by Neil and Bruce because Amy was fired/quit. Idk what happened but you can tell the plan back around 2010 was Neil & Bruce would make TLOU, while Amy would make Uncharted 3 and then go on to make Uncharted 4, which they wanted to release in 2015. Then I assume the plan was if Neil & Bruce were doing pre-production on TLOU Part2 in 2014-2015, they could have had TLOU2 out by 2018. Issue was they had to make Uncharted 4 first, the 2 teams became 1 team, and that whole plan fell apart and the games took longer.

None of this had anything to do with The Last of Us Remastered on PS4. The PS3 could not run PS4 games. That game sold over 10 million copies just on PS4, and most of those copies sold were to players who had not played the game on PS3. Why would they just give the game away for free after all that hard work? It wasn't even a remaster really, the game was less than a year old. They just ported it, got it to run at 60 FPS, and sold it to millions of new players.

The consoles will overperform their paper specs, but its hard to compare Turing PC cards to custom RDNA 2 consoles.

The rumored Navi 22 RDNA 2 GPU is around 40 CUs but with a boost clock over 2.3 GHz. Both consoles will likely outperform that card (which could be called the 6700 XT for like $450.) Both consoles will of course not perform as high as the rumored 80 CU Big Navi 21 GPU. But that expected. Not sure how it'd compare to Ampere/Turing cards.

The games that top devs will get running on these consoles around 2023-24 will blow us all away. Give em time.

The Xbox 360 controller in 2005 and the Xbox Series X in 2025 will have the exact same feature set for developers to program for, except for 1 thing, the rumble motors in the triggers, added in 2013. Thats it.

20 years and devs will basically have the same limited controller tool set to use when making their games on Xbox Series X as they did on Xbox One and Xbox 360. No new ways to design, no new experiences for players.

Peak controller was in 2013, who knew.

Love the lazy "pro-consumer" approach, don't even both innovating. Same shit for almost 20 years, fuck me.
