Mods over there managed to nuke Media Create Sales threads - a tradition going on for about 15 years - by pissing off Chris and other members with, what else, unwarranted bans.

It's an epic read that gets more juicy with every new twist. I love when someone was brave enough to call out the mods on their shit and produced evidence of their bad faith arguments via screenshots of Discord messages.
In the light of these events, Morrigan resigned as a mod, too.

The sheer hypocrisy of such a progressive site, being sold to the highest bidder, for a quick buck is pretty much par for course. Truly pathetic, and most of the posters and moderators are just lapping it all up.

The site was originally founded under the pretense of transparency, and everyone supposedly being treated equally and having a stake in its success and direction. That was all garbage of course. Like socialism and communism, some folks were far more equal than others. The financials were hidden away, the mods never got paid (some of them weren’t too bad) … all the while Cerium was laughing all the way to the bank.

He cited health reasons for stepping away from the day to day running of the site; I suspected that the real reason was that he no longer needed to work. The mods and community did all the work for him, and all he/him needed to do was figure out how to discreetly spend that sweet sweet cash, and hope folks didn’t find out about it. Got to respect the hustle, planning, and execution if nothing else.

So now he’s sold them all out for a cool 4.55M US dollarideoos, and most of the folks (and the mods on the frontlines that he exploited!) are in raptures about it. If someone like Kotick pulled the same stunt, they’d be tearing their hair out and ripping their clothes off in apoplectic rage, and decrying the evils of capitalism. The hypocrisy and lack of self-awareness on display, is quite a spectacle.

So relationships moved over to resetera when it was created. ANd out of the social stratusphere a lot of devs would get called out for being on a site like Gaf. Because it's viewed as anti LGBTQ. And you have seen what happens if your put out a thought that isn't for that movement or questions one aspect or something. They get cancelled and their career ruined.

Look at what happened to DF Darkx1 on reset? John is a super nice guy, but that place ran over him because he interviewed a developer john had no clue that had some bad opinions on things resetera are all about. The whole site came down on him, and he literally stopped posting.

The bullshit thing is no one over there wants the truth and prefer to be in a echo-chamber. Well after Dave Chappelle's last special I think things in terms of talking points, and how people view things are going to change.

A lot of people over there just want to talk video games. And thats why im here on gaf. That place I never went into politic discussions but for some reason anything that was video games that was remotely a hot topic like Hogwarts game people like myself were banned for being able to separate the art from artist.
