But usually with age and just life, things start to come into perspective for a lot of young people. I know a couple friends who acted like Neph, but then had a kid. They are 180 totally different person now.

What are the odds that Bjorn backs out of the deal after seeing the members at Era plummet? Then Cerium can back peddle and say he canceled the deal based on the other forums in the MobaFire family.

Well the deal is $3.5 million upfront and then $1 million based on certain conditions. My guess would be that user retention would be part of those conditions.
Besides there won't be a mass exodus without a pied Piper to lead the way, most users are fooling themselves if they think the formation of the site was some spontaneous community action.

I know $4.55m is a lot of money, but when I think about cancel culture and the costs of marketing AAA games - we hear about - I can't help but think the industry as a whole will be relieved that such cancellations out of resetera can be easily turned down, now - by deals with MOBA.

For MOBA, I wonder if their main gain and aim is to migrate all their other site users to resetera - which is presumably a newer forum and easier to scale up, and essentially reduce costs from all their other sites, while increasing traffic and eyeballs on adds at resetera.

What I'm most intrigued to know is where the industry userbase at resetera will end up. The DF guy (dictator?) posting at resetera will probably give us an indication of whether they are staying or going, by where he ends up post in the next week.

Man you must have a hell of a memory hole. Bish became one of the absolute worst mods in the year leadup to the GAF crash. He was doing all sorts of bans without following rules, dunking on the people he just banned for wrongthink, celebrating with the ciricle jerkers etc. In my mind, he was the perfect example of somebody with a little bit of power letting it get to his head. EL even had a post that I can't find at the moment that described that Bish specifically let him down with all the stuff he found after the exodus.
